The "1-Minute" Review
The Acer Iconia Tab A200 is a 10-inch tablet computer that comes with the Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system pre-installed. That, along with its many good hardware features, should be enough to make it an attractive option. But Acer is kind enough to provide A200 owners with free updates to a later version of Android, which is version 4.0 a.k.a. Ice Cream Sandwich. And that makes it even better.
Part of what makes it worth a look is the fact that it houses an NVIDIA Tegra 250 dual Cortex A9 processor setup, coupled with 1GB of RAM. It may not be as powerful as NVIDIA’s own quad-core Tegra 3 System-on-a-chip, but it still manages to pack in enough of a punch to best most of its competitors.
Because of the ample processing power onboard, users should be able to make good use of the hardware features which include a 2-megapixel camera, 1280x800 pixel resolution screen, built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and support for accessories or peripherals via a built-in microUSB port. And for those who require more than 8GB of storage space, there’s an easy way to expand by way of microSD cards.
The included 3260mAh battery should be enough to last for at least an entire day’s worth of heavy use. That means watching movies, listening to music, Web browsing through Wi-Fi, and playing games. Of course, the more stuff you do, the faster your battery will run out. Fortunately, the built-in microUSB port handles not just data but takes care of charging duties as well, which makes things a lot easier especially for those who tend to spend most of their time away from wall outlets.
