If you are looking for a capable smartwatch for basic fitness tracking and notifications, and don't wish to charge it every other day, the Huawei Watch GT 2 makes a very strong case for itself. Performance isn't on the same level as that of the Samsung Galaxy Watch or the Galaxy Watch Active, and we hope that Huawei can address this. For Rs. 14,999, the Huawei Watch GT 2 is a good smartwatch to consider.

Smartprix

Premium looks, excellent battery

from Smartprix

The Huawei Watch GT 2 doesn’t aim to compete with Apple Watch or Samsung’s premium offerings, and it delivers almost everything I’d expect of a smartwatch priced under Rs. 20,000. It looks great on my wrist, has an enticing OLED display, delivers reasonably accurate and diverse activity tracking, helps manage notifications and calls from my wrist, and -most importantly – doesn’t require daily charging....

It looks great on my wrist, has an enticing OLED display, delivers reasonably accurate and diverse activity tracking, helps manage notifications and calls from my wrist, and -most importantly – doesn’t require daily charging.

What’s missing is an app ecosystem – which is currently an expected limitation of all competent smartwatches in this budget.

Pickr

The not-so-smart-watch

from Pickr

It’s hard to recommend the Huawei Watch GT2, because outside of comfort and battery life, it’s not one of the best smartwatches you can find to date. The Huawei Watch GT2 is an acceptable watch with a heart rate tracker, but it lacks the smarts necessary for it to be called a “smartwatch”...More

It’s hard to recommend the Huawei Watch GT2, because outside of comfort and battery life, it’s not one of the best smartwatches you can find to date. The Huawei Watch GT2 is an acceptable watch with a heart rate tracker, but it lacks the smarts necessary for it to be called a “smartwatch”. Beyond that of notifications, you’re not getting the smartwatch you’ll crave. Rather, this falls so short.

Huawei Watch GT 2 is all about three main things – design, activity tracking and battery life. In terms of design, the Watch GT 2 succeeds in pretending to be a low key smartwatch and high key wristwatch. It is also nearly perfect for all of your activity tracking needs. With two weeks of battery life, the smartwatch wants to go on and on and when it does, you don’t have to worry about charging. When it comes to wearable, Huawei has pulled out every trick up its sleeve. However, the lack of a really smart operating system limits the wearable.

From lack of a wide variety of watch faces to the complete absence of an app store to download external apps, the Watch GT 2 does disappoint. However, if you’re someone who isn’t particularly keen on using third-party apps such as maps on your smartwatch or customizing it extensively, then the Huawei Watch GT 2 can be the perfect companion for you.

Android Headlines

A sleek-looking smartwatch with amazing battery life

from Android Headlines

Most of you will be able to get around two weeks of battery life with this watch, and the display on it is also really, really good. The Huawei Watch GT2 is a bit pricey, though, so… it's up to you to decide whether it's worth it or not. In our opinion, though, this is the best alternative to Tizen and Wear OS smartwatches.
