Combination of metal and plastic and feels very well constructed

It took a little while to get used to this mount as I had only ever used mounts that use suction cups on the inside of the windscreen. The mount itself is a combination of metal and plastic and feels very well constructed. I’ve had the mount for 2-3 weeks now and providing you don’t use your CD player in the car, I recommend this product as it becomes part of the car and doesn’t flop around like other mounts.

Wonderful combination of a unique, universal design, as well optimal placement that make this one a winner

At $25, I was more than pleased with the nGroove universal CD slot mount. While it’s not exactly the prettiest (or cheapest) mount you’ll come across, it’s the wonderful combination of a unique, universal design, as well optimal placement that make this one a winner. Although certainly not for everyone, it’s definitely worth a buy for anyone who has been looking for a quality mount and no longer using their car’s CD player. Still, I feel like a $15 price point would have been a bit more fitting, but again, it’s hard to beat that CD slot design.

Macworld

Cleverly designed, sturdy, and convenient

from Macworld

Overall, the biggest limitation of both Mountek mounts is that if other controls or displays are directly below or above the CD slot (or whatever horizontal dash opening you use as the mount point), the nGroove or your phone may block access to those items. For example, our car stereo’s large volume knob is just below the CD-player slot, so the Mountek mount makes it more difficult to turn that knob. (For me, this inconvenience is easily overcome by the volume buttons on the steering wheel.)...

But if your car’s dash accommodates the nGroove mounts, I highly recommend them. They’re cleverly designed, sturdy, and convenient. I personally prefer the Snap 2 for its more-compact and -elegant design, but you can’t go wrong with either model.
