The Insta360 One X has some impressive qualities, mainly in its wealth of shooting modes and its user friendliness, plus its pocketable dimensions – here’s a camera you can take pretty much anywhere on your adventures, where it’ll be able to capture some impressive footage that can be immediately shared via its app.

Consumers looking for great quality 360 photos and video in a pocket-friendly form should get the Insta360 OneX. Action-sports junkies may prefer the more compact — but more expensive — Rylo 360 ($499), which has a GoPro-like shape and image stabilization. But for most, the Insta360 OneX will suit the best.

We're on board with the idea of 360-degree cameras, both outputting in VR-friendly 360-degree formats, and as a future replacement for Action cams like the GoPro. For people who have the time to post process video, these things open up a range of camera angles you'd need several GoPros to capture. We're impressed enough with the One X's camera and video quality, particularly in comparison to the cheaper Air model.

360 cameras are a luxury, but if you travel semi-frequently, want to explore other angles and ideas in your photography, or simply like taking photos and can splurge on the cool factor, the One X is one of the best all-around options in this slightly high-end personal 360 camera market.

The Insta360 One X is trying to be a tradition action camera as well as 360 VR camera, and to be honest it does a pretty good job at both. Even if you are not interested in shooting 360 video at all you should still take a look at the One X, because its new way of capturing ultra stabilized video surpasses anything a GoPro Hero can do.

The Insta360 ONE X definitely an intriguing alternative to a GoPro that's arguably more versatile, and I think it has the potential to work amazingly well for sports like surfing, snowboarding, skydiving, and skateboarding, where there's beautiful scenery and action to capture all at once.

Media companies and streaming platforms are positioning 360-degree content as the future of entertainment but have reserved the tools to make those for big studios and well-funded individuals only. The Insta360 ONE X, a major and impressive upgrade from last year’s first attempt, puts that power in users’ hands. Now for just a few hundred bucks, you can create magical and breath-taking footage that would normally take a few expensive tools and a crew to make.
The ONE X is a great leap forwards for creating 360 content, a power-horse of an action camera with a raft of improved features and stunning quality. Again, it's a mid-range device so the price put it out of range for some, but the build quality and content quality the ONE X delivers is worth it.
