It’s hard to recommend splurging and dropping nearly $300 on a newer Xtreme 2 unless you really want the ability to connect 100 JBL speakers together or plan to fully submerge your speaker every now and then. While the IPX7 waterproof build of the Xtreme 2 is certainly tempting, it may not be worth it especially when you consider that the Xtreme is still splashproof and can survive being left out in the rain without a problem.
This banging party machine brings your favorite tunes to your next party. The bass can be quite boomy, but it's sturdy enough to survive a dunk in the pool and keep on playing.

The barrel-shaped sound launcher combines rugged portability and solid audio, but not without a couple compromises. Most noticeably, the $250-plus price tag.

It might not be the prettiest speaker ever, but the JBL Xtreme 2 is designed with purpose and highly practical for outdoors use thanks to its carry handle and robust, water-resistant design. It thumps out the sound too, which is where it really wins.

The JBL Xtreme 2 is a party speaker, through and through. It sounds best at high volumes and when placed in the middle of the party (or the room). There is an app, but you don’t really have to mess with it. Bottom line, if you want a big portable speaker, this is a great one to buy.

The Xtreme 2 might not have any smart features built-in, but it’s everything you’d want from an all-weatherproof Bluetooth speaker, from the outdoorsy design to its sound quality. The Xtreme 2 appeals in more ways than one – it’s a multipurpose speaker that you can take with you to a breakdancing lesson, the pool, the beach or on a cycle. And due to its discrete look, you can leave it in the living room.
JBL has delivered a durable waterproof speaker capable of big sound with the Xtreme 2. Between the sound quality, battery life, and extra features you can’t really go wrong with it. However, it’s also a bit on the pricey side starting at $300 and most likely out of many people’s price range.

The JBL Xtreme 2 is a jumbo-sized Bluetooth speaker that trades light and easy portability for much fuller sound, both indoors and outdoors.
