It’s not going to be as loud and powerful as a Google Home Max or HomePod, but it’s a marked improvement over the regular Google Home and a lot of other Google Assistant speakers on the market. It’ll fit right at home in a large bedroom or living room and would absolutely be great for parties, but the lack of waterproofing or a battery do cut down on some of that versatility.

Great integration with Google Home

from Stuff

Polk’s Assist has a lot going for it -- mainly the fact that it’s a third-party Google Assistant-powered smart speaker in a market swamped with Alexa-based devices. But ultimately, the sound quality lets it down when compared to other similarly-priced smart speakers, namely the Sonos One.

Google Home with better sound

from Pocket-lint

The Polk Assist is a mixed bag so far. We feel the potential is there and it definitely sounds better than the Google Home, but we're just not sure exactly how much better it sounds. Yet.

Superior level of sound quality

from TrustedReviews

The Assist felt solid and very well made in my hands, and the finish was excellent. There was an impressive attention to detail, and Polk has certainly delivered some superb speakers in the past.

The Polk Assist is a solid Google Assistant-based smart speaker. It packs in all of the technology - software and hardware - that makes Google’s series of smart speakers so great, and it sounds even better thanks to Polk’s custom tweeter and woofers. It doesn’t have any unique features of its own, however, and its penchant for playing music sometimes supersedes its ability to hear your chosen wake word.

A Google Assistant with some muscle

from IGN

Polk's Assist is a bigger, louder, and better-sounding Google Home. If you've been wanting a smart speaker with some audio power that can be used next time you have a party without spending $399 for a Google Home Max, the Assist is a great option.

Google Assistant meets stellar sound in a compact, affordable package

from 9to5Google

Smart speakers are becoming more and more prevalent, and options are becoming available for everyone to fit their exact needs. In the case of the Polk Assist, I think the best use case here is someone who wants the same form factor as the standard Google Home, but simply wants improved audio without forking over $399 for a Home Max.
