A great place to start spherical imaging

from Wired

If you can't justify grabbing the pricier Ricoh Theta V, Insta360 has made what is probably the best alternative. If you can't justify grabbing the pricier Ricoh Theta V, Insta360 has made what is probably the best alternative. I actually prefer the Insta360 app in most cases, and its latest set of updates makes this product really shine. Especially if you prefer to use an iPhone for all things photography, the feature-rich Insta360 ONE is an approachable way into 360 imaging.

A fantastic way to capture experiences with your iPhone

from 9to5Mac

By iPhone accessory standards, it’s expensive. By action-cam standards, the pricing is nothing out of the ordinary. And this is, in my view, an absolutely fantastic action cam.

Fantastic editing features and software for iOS

from The Wirecutter

This offers software with a bunch of clever tricks not found in our other picks, but image quality isn’t quite as good, there’s no Wi-Fi, and it’s iOS-only.

If you have an iOS device, the One should be on your short list. Though it doesn’t have the image quality of the Theta V, I think the cool video editing features go a long way in making up for that. To put it another way, if your goal is to video or photograph beautiful locations in the highest 360 quality, the Theta is probably your best bet. If your goal is to make fun videos to share, but don’t care about ultimate image quality, the One is the better bet.

Still a few notches from 'must buy' status

The Insta360 One isn’t perfect, but its range of modes (most notably, FreeCapture), simplicity and truly pocketable size make it the best current 360 camera for smartphones – even if the Android contingent have to wait a wee bit longer to get their taste of the action.
