The Polar M200 is a basic GPS watch. It tracks the distance you run accurately, along with the pace, heart rate and calories you have burnt. Easy to use, it doesn't provide additional training features such as seeing which aerobic zone you're working in through the heart rate monitor or interval training, but it does double as an activity tracker. If you're you're just starting out at running seriously, this is a great introduction to GPS watches.

A running all-rounder that’s nice to your wallet

from Pocket-lint

The Polar M200 is a solid running watch that, for the price, packs in far more than you'd expect. The Polar M200 is a solid running watch that, for the price, packs in far more than you'd expect. There's no escaping its oversized design that thanks to its tiny screen always looks larger than it is, but this is just one slight against an otherwise accomplished device. Some gadgets combine to be greater than the sum of their parts. The M200 isn't one of them. You get what you see, with the whole package never really melding together seamlessly.

As a runner, the M200 is a revelation, it’s cheap yet functional with GPS and heart rate monitor built-in and for me that’s what I really want if I'm on a budget. The higher end offerings give better, more accurate hardware but you also pay for that and if you’re on a budget that’s not something you can always do. The M200 is comfortable, waterproof and offers a good mid-point for those not wanting to go the whole hog.

Good budget running watch

At $150, the M200 is a great value, delivering precise GPS and heart-rate monitoring as well as fairly solid battery life. It's also less expensive than the Garmin Forerunner 35 ($199) and the TomTom Spark 3 Cardio ($189), which offer comparable features. The M200 makes up for its lack of finesse...More

Don't be fooled by the unassuming look – the Polar M200 is a capable budget running watch, especially when working with Polar's training program. If you're someone who's looking to get more serious about their running, but conscious of spending too much, this is a good place to start. But the looks do betray the daily activity tracking features, as you're unlikely to keep it on your wrist once your workout is done.
