Proof waterproof speakers are just getting better

from AppAdvice

At the time of this writing, JBL still offers the Flip 3, although at a slightly discounted price. Normally I’d say you should go out and buy the newer of the two products. In this case, the decision isn’t as clear-cut. If you’re looking for a waterproof solution and definitely want to use Siri with the speaker, go with the Flip 4. If the price is a factor and you don’t have to worry about dropping the speaker in a pool, the Flip 3 remains a good choice. Yes, you’ll get less time between charges and slightly less sound. However, unless you have both speaker mod... Full review

One device we’re glad to recommend

from NotebookReview
We think the JBL Flip 4’s combination of style, sound quality, and durable waterproof design makes it well worth its asking price of $99. This speaker produces enough sound to fill a living room with full, clear sound. The waterproof nature is an undeniable asset at pool parties, the beach, and in the event you’re not as careful with your devices as you want to be... Full review

Offers bags of value for the money

from Android Headlines
If you liked the JBL flip 3, then it stands to reason that you will like the Flip 4 as well. Although the two are not compatible with each other, the JBL Flip 4 takes most of the design points and features from the Flip range and improves on them. Most notably, with its waterproof nature. In many ways, this is the main aspect to focus on here. If you own the Flip 3 and do not need a waterproof speaker, then there might not be much value for you in upgrading – especially considering the lack of compatibility between the two JBL Connect versions... An excellent portable Bluetooth speaker

from Pocketables
JBL charges a pretty penny for the Flip 4 but you get a lot for your money – excellent sound, waterproofing, JBL Connect+. If you can afford to buy two or three they’d make a great addition to any party or gathering. I’m giving them a recommend, with the full understanding that they aren’t cheapo speakers. If interested, you can pick some up on Amazon today for $99... Full review

A life-friendly speaker that doesn't skimp on sound

Punchy and super-versatile

from TrustedReviews
The JBL Flip 4 is a small Bluetooth speaker with excellent water resistance and a frame willing to put up with plenty of abuse. It’s a compelling alternative to the UE Wonderboom. If practicality is as important as sound quality, the JBL Flip 4 becomes much more compelling. Its water resistance is great, the thick rubber is hardy, battery life is good and a built-in strap is handy... Full review

The new sub-$100 speaker king

from Tom's Guide
With the improvements JBL made to the Flip 4, you no longer need to choose between sound quality and features in a $100 Bluetooth speaker. You can have it all. The Flip 4's sound is impressive, with big bass and full vocals. And now that it's waterproof, you don't have to think twice about where you take it. Add in the improved battery and excellent speakerphone, and there's little to complain about. The UE Roll 2 has a more fun design, with a more interesting shape and splashier color choices. But for most people, the Flip 4 is now the best choice in this price range... Full review

from PC Magazine
What more can you really ask of a portable $100 speaker? The JBL Flip 4 delivers solid audio performance and can get wet without any issues, making it a pool-friendly, outdoor-ready option.
