Good sound quality, great build quality

The Jaybird Freedom require a lot of setup time, but it’s worth it if you need a secure fit from your sports headphones... Full review

Great build quality and sound great

from TrustedReviews

If you’ve struggled to find sports headphones that feel secure, the Jaybird Freedom are worth considering. Chances are that, with such a range of fit options, you should be able to find one that's suitable. They do, however, take a lot of setup time to get right, which isn’t something you say about most headphones. The battery life is an issue at four hours of continuous playback, with only another four from the charging clip. It means you need to think about a degree of battery management, which isn’t great if you normally just leave your sports headphones in your gy... Full review

A premium set of earbuds, with a price to match and a unique set of quirks

from Tools & Toys
The Freedoms are not without their compromises — the finicky fit, short battery life, and sub-par active use makes them a hard sell. But those trade-offs do allow the Freedoms to be near perfect bluetooth earbuds for daily use. They're small and attractive, they sound good, they come with a useful app, and their dual-device feature solves all connectivity issues... Full review

A potentially great pair of headphones with too many compromises

from TechRadar
Jaybird had a tough job following up its excellent X2 and, unfortunately, the Freedom Wireless take a few too many steps back. Comfort and design are definitely high points for the Freedoms, but their mediocre sound and short battery life make them hard to recommend... Full review

Sound is great for the average user and they're undeniably comfortable

from MacRumors
$200 is a lot to spend on earbuds. It's more than i normally spend because I'm prone to losing them, and I have mixed feelings on whether or not the Jaybird earbuds are worth the purchase price. On one hand, I love the size, comfort, and long battery life, but that bulky remote was nearly a deal breaker for me, constantly getting in the way and pulling the earbuds out of my ears. It's entirely possible that due to my small ear size and ear shape, I wasn't able to get a good enough fit with the Freedoms to keep them in my ears, so others might have a different experience... Jaybird's best wireless sports headphone yet falls short of true greatness

from Cnet
The Jaybird Freedom is in many ways the best Jaybird headphone yet -- and a strong wireless in-ear sports headphone -- but a few design flaws and its high price tag spoil the package... Full review

Sound Guys

Looks way nicer now, but at the expense of their battery life and fit

from Sound Guys

Overall, the Jaybird Freedom do look way sleeker than the X2s, but they also don’t fit as well. The bigger ‘buds of the X2s wedged themselves in your ears and even though it was bulky and looked weird, they fit great. With the Freedoms you have to rely completely on the little accessories like the cable clips and wing tips. It’s not impossible to find a great fit (and maybe it’s just me) but it’s definitely way harder than something like the UA Headphones Wireless which just stay in your ears no matter what you do. The sound quality is okay even with the help o... Full review

Nice wireless earbuds, but hard to justify at $200

from Android Police
Are you going to spend $200 on Bluetooth earbuds? The answer for most people is "definitely not." I can understand that; it's a lot to spend on an accessory. Hell, you can get a decent phone for that much. If you care about sound quality and need wireless earbuds aimed at fitness, you might want to consider the Jaybird Freedom earbuds... Full review

Ranks among the tiniest, sleekest, and priciest wireless earphone pairs

from PC Magazine
The Jaybird Freedom pack very good sound into a small, light package with plenty of fit options. Big bass fans won't be satisfied, but the sculpted, balanced sound will please most listeners. You might get frustrated trying to find the best fit, however, and the impressively tiny design leads to some frustrations like cable kink. Even with its myriad included accessories, the Freedom doesn't quite justify its $200 price tag; you can find better-performing, less expensive Bluetooth earphones... Full review
