Great balance of portability and sound quality

I've worn them everywhere since receiving them this Christmas. The auto-pause feature (when you remove a single AirPod) works great when co-workers walk up to your desk to chat. For my particular ear canal they hold just fine, including on the treadmill. Recommendation: Buy

The AirPods are one of the most intriguing things Apple has done in a long time, and most of the time are a delight to use: the set-up is simple, using them is easy and the sound quality is good. At the same time there are frustrations: Siri is not as good as it could be after five years, and at £159, they’re not cheap, although few decent sets of wireless headphones are.

The Apple AirPods aren’t for everyone, but if you want the most seamless all-day iOS connected headphone experience, this is worth looking at. As someone who has been using Bluetooth headphones or over a year, I found the simplicity and elegance of the AirPods to work well for my needs. Yes, they are expensive, but if you’re like me and use headphones for work and leisure multiple times on a daily basis, they are a very cool set to consider specially if you want to experience a completely wireless experience. Siri has to become a bit faster, but it’s nonetheless clever to be able to invoke the assistant with a few taps.

Minimalistic design, clear and surprisingly punchy audio

Apple’s AirPods certainly may be one of the more controversial products that the company released this year, but after spending some good quality time with them, they just might be one of my favorite gadgets of 2016.

The AirPods are pretty good wireless headphones for a specific sort of person. You need to like Apple’s EarPod design and be OK with the way they sound and fit in your ear—the audio quality in the AirPods is noticeably better, but it’s not night-and-day. To get the most out of them, you’ll want to be embedded deeply into Apple’s ecosystem, since only Apple devices can seamlessly pair with the headphones.

The AirPods are a typical first-generation product from Apple, for better or worse. Being an early adopter has its moments, but at the same time if someone said they wanted to wait for the next iteration of the company’s truly wireless earphones, to see if Apple adds more features to the mix, I don’t think I’d blame them. At the same time, I’m generally happy with the first attempt. Not having media playback controls, or volume controls, is annoying, and I think it’s a dumb oversight on Apple’s part –especially considering the majority of the competition features this — but it is what it is. Everything else about the AirPods is great, so I can overlook these things for now.

There's not too much to learn about using AirPods. The case they come in features a simple button on the back for manually connecting to basic Bluetooth devices (such as an Android phone), and also features an indicator light on the inside that shows whether the earbuds are actively charging or not.
The earbuds themselves don't have any buttons, apart from an accelerometer-based tap control for invoking Siri. Open the case up for the first time and they offer to connect to your iPhone. Pop them in and they start working.

Apple’s wireless headphones are amazeballs

It’s nice to see an Apple product ‘surprise and delight’ again out of the box, and AirPods do just that. They are comfortable in my ears, don’t fall out, sound decent, can handle phone calls seamlessly and also makes listening to audio on multiple Apple products a breeze. But one of the biggest features is making Siri work really, really well. AirPods do come at a cost though, as $219 CAD is nothing to sneeze at. But if you’re looking for one set of wireless headphones to rule them all in your growing Apple ecosystem, these are the ones to get. You won’t regret it (unless you have wonky ears).
