RATING
Based on 12 reviews

What's good

  • Excellent incoming and outgoing call quality
  • Premium design and build quality
  • Slim and lightweight
  • Good voice recognition for Siri/Google Now

What's bad

  • Low volume for calls and music
  • No dedicated volume rocker on device

There's a reason Jabra chose the word stealth for the Jabra Stealth headset. It measures 0.6 inches wide and 2.6 inches long and weighs a mere 7.9 grams. For most reviewers, it was light and small enough to wear for hours on end without issue with some forgetting they were wearing it at all. Design-wise, the Stealth doesn't stray too far from the traditional candy bar shape. While not revolutionary in appearance, experts appreciated Jabra's effort to give the headset a more premium appearance from its matte rubber finish to the silver trim. Despite its lightweight and small size, reviewers were impressed with its sturdy build quality. There are only two buttons on the device: answer/end calls that also pairs with your phone when pressed for three seconds and the Google Now/Siri voice command button.

Audio quality is one of the biggest pitfalls of headsets, but this is where the Stealth shines. Experts praise the "crystal clear" quality of incoming and outgoing calls and add that background noises were generally blocked out due to Jabra's Noise Blackout noise cancellation technology. Their only major complaint was the overall volume of calls and music. In general, they found it to be relatively quiet though things like notifications and prompt sounds tended to be much louder. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated volume rocker. Instead, volume can only be controlled through the phone.

Jabra rates the Stealth at 6 hours of talk time, which was consistent with reviewer tests. Pocket Insider was able to average 10 calls a day each lasting around 15 minutes with the device powered on the entire time. Once the battery has drained, it took experts around 2 hours to recharge completely.

Overall, reviewers recommend the Jabra Stealth. Technology Tell says, "If powerful, comfortable and discrete are what you're looking for, you probably won't find anything better than the Stealth."

Clear sound and phone calls, good battery life

from Jeffs Reviews

The Jabra Stealth works fine for call clarity, ease of pairing and all the other features like being able to redial by double clicking the side of the headset. The battery life seems fine to me for the size of the device and the ear pieces are comfortable once you get a little used to the fit. The headset is just too dependent on voice recognition and if that does not work well it limits the usefulness of the headset for the cost you’re paying. I did have luck making several calls and using the Jabra Stealth as a general wireless headset which is one of the main uses I wanted it for but controlling my phone without having to touch it is not going to work...

The Jabra also does not have any volume control on the device so you do have to use your phones volume to turn up and down the volume so hands free is not exactly a full time commitment. I like the Jabra Stealth but it is still a long way form being the total hands free headset that people are wanting. If you need a comfortable hands free way to talk the Jabra Stealth works well but voice control is still a futuristic concept and not today’s technology.

Charging the Stealth is a breeze with the included MicroUSB cable. What’s great about this is if you lose it any 1000mm standard rubber USB to MicroUSB cable for charging and data transfer can be used with it. This is something I’ve acquired plenty of over the years. A lot of other headsets have proprietary cables, but having something universal to charge headsets has become a must for me.
At a price point of just $99.99, the Jabra Stealth has become one of the daily devices I carry with me.

Looks simple, works simple

Part of being made smaller also means working simpler. So don’t be looking for lots of buttons; Stealth has ONE multipurpose button to tap and by doing so activates varied features — the best being to connect with Siri (Apple) or Google Now (Android). Then just ask for what you want it do (make a call, play music, etc.). Meanwhile the smartphone stays in the pocket, out of sight and out of trouble.

So enough with complicated tech that makes using it more trouble than not — I’m sticking with the Jabra Stealth Bluetooth Headset. If being able to hear your phone go off is more valuable than listening to voice messages hours later, spend the $99.99 already!

Right now the Jabra Stealth is my current Bluetooth headset and should remain that way for quite some time.

Voice command compatibility with Android S-Voice and Google Now have worked very well for me. I assume that Siri works just as well (never tested it). Although the list of commands specific to the Jabra Stealth may be minimal, they get the job done. The only complaint that some may encounter with this earpiece is the volume threshold. Phone conversations could use a little more, even when the connected device has volume set to maximum.
