tech2

Feature rich player that packs a punch, but with weight issues

from tech2
Does the Roar 2 have the barrage and the clamour we are looking for? Well, sort of. It has good sound and can definitely rock a small party. Creative always throws in a crazy amount of features such as MicroSD music player, voice recorder, charger for other devices and USB host audio replacement possibility, which is all great... The Huffington Post

It's well-built, subtle to look at and reassuringly sturdy

from The Huffington Post
In conclusion, the Roar isn't what we'd describe as a 'cool' product. It's actually much better than that, it's unobtrusive. In a climate where Bluetooth speakers are trying to 'shout' above the noise through looks, the Roar does it by simply sounding good, really good... Full review
Digit

A new benchmark at this price range

from Digit
Creative, with the Sound Blaster Roar, manages to pack a lot of features in a bluetooth speaker. It can be used as a USB speaker on a PC and can double as a battery pack for your phone. Performance is top notch as well, as it performs neck and neck with the Bose SoundLink Mini. The Sound Blaster Roar is easy to recommend. .. Full review

Gives you more than you bargain for

from The Indian Express
Oh yes, if you are looking for that perfect, versatile Bluetooth speaker that will let you sell your old Philips Powerhouse on OLX. Just ensure that you read the manual from cover to cover before you start playing with the buttons. The Creative Sound Blaster Roar is without doubt among the best value for money music devices in the market at the moment. It just gives you more than you bargained for, in every sense... Full review

Smart looking Bluetooth speaker that sounds good and throws in lots of extra features

from Expert Reviews
Overall the Roar is a very good Bluetooth speaker with a smart design and good sound quality. How much use you’ll from functions like the voice recorder will be subjective, and there are other features such as the siren that probably won’t see much use at all... Full review
SlashGear

It'll fit in with any room you happen to have surrounding it

from SlashGear

The only thing we'd like this speaker to improve on is the clarity with which its many abilities are presented. The Roar - the namesake of this device - suggests it'll make your sound louder, and give it a bit of a punch. That it does, but why not just integrate that ability in with the rest of the controls?

No worries, though, every brand needs to cut through the garbage that is the lesser speaker environment somehow or another. If this speaker needs to have a "Roar" button to do it, then so be it.

In the box you'll have a few adapters for traveling overseas (dependent on y... Full review

Electronista

Offers a wonderful experience at a price that isn't overwhelming

from Electronista

With only two real drawbacks to the speaker, the Sound Blaster Roar offers a wonderful experience at a price that isn't overwhelming. The lack of onboard track controls outside of microSD playback hurts the speaker, but some users won't be troubled since it can be done on the connected device. Battery life isn't bad at eight hours, but with the massive battery size it feels like it could be longer. These issues are minimal for the Roar, especially if people have no intention of carrying it around. What's important is the grand, powerful sound that the speaker produces. Considering the $150... You should definitely pick one of these up

from Android Headlines
The Creative Sound Blaster Roar is one of the best wireless, portable speakers I’ve ever heard. The battery life is good, the sound is fantastic, and the additional features make it a decent conference call and recording device. You should definitely pick one of these up... Full review
Tom's Guide

A Bluetooth speaker that delivers big and bold audio for a reasonable price

from Tom's Guide
If you're looking for a semiportable Bluetooth speaker that you'll mainly use inside to listen to music, the $150 Creative Sound Blaster Roar is hard to beat. It's cheaper and includes far more features than the Bose SoundLink Mini, and it offers better bass than the Fugoo Style. While you may not use most of the extra features it packs (and when you do, you'll likely need to crack open the manual), it's the Roar's big sound that makes it a great value... Full review
Pocket-lint

Great sound, really loud, decent bass levels, independent device volume control, good battery life

from Pocket-lint

If Creative isn't among the first names that jump out at you when thinking of buying a Bluetooth speaker then, take note, because the Sound Blaster Roar is an exceptional portable.

Decent battery life, sturdy design and, most importantly for any audio device, sound quality that will outsmart plenty of its rivals are obvious high points. There's a lot of bass that warmly sweeps into the mix - far more than you'd anticipate for a device of this scale.

It's a little weighty for a portable, but we'd rather take the quality build and deal with that. Because for its £130 ask... Full review
