Huawei has officially announced their Android phone, the U8230. It’s nowhere near what they showcased back at MWC, but we’ll give them props for choosing a more original design with this one.

The Huawei U8230 Android phone comes a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, 3.2-megapixel camera, trackball, 1500 mAh battery, and an on-screen keyboard hinting that it could be Android 1.5 Cupcake running the show. Pricing wasn’t revealed, but it is, however, confirmed headed for T-Mobile later this year.

The Huawei C8000, meanwhile, is their new Windows Mobile-powered phone. Bearing a great resemblance to the HTC Touch 3G, this C8000 features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 3D UI, and an independent display adapter that can assure smooth playback of video files and DVD-quality pictures. Its price is also yet to be determined.

We’re not yet sure which other markets will get blessed with the Huawei U8230 Android phone, but it’s nice to know that they’ve now officially joined the Android phone market. After all, as more competition enters the picture, the consumer, in the end, will always be the winner.
