We’ve already seen what Rogers and RIM have lined up for 2009 so now let’s turn our attention to what Sony Ericsson has planned for the new year.

We’ve heard about the Rika/W705 and Kate , but it seems that there are more Cybershot phones hidden in the Sony Ericsson vault.

The Sony Ericsson Yue is a supposed follow up to the K550, featuring a 3.2-megapixel camera, and is expected to be released during the 1s quarter of 2009. Below is an image side-by-side with the K550 giving us a glimpse of what it could look like (read: unofficial).

There is also the Filippa, which may come with HSUPA connectivity, 140MB internal memory, SnapFish, PhotoFix, Face and Smile Detection. No release date yet, but it could become available in three colored variants: Noble Black, Sincere Silver and Precious Peach.

The Sony Ericsson Frances, meanwhile, is a Cybershot slider which features GPS, an active lens cover and some of the imaging features also found in the Filippa. No information was given as to its megapixels and release date.

Last but not the least, the Sony Ericsson Athena is also expected to come out in the 1st quarter of 2009, but belongs to the Snapshot series. It’s the successor of the S302 and is a mid-level candybar for the average user.

This list is not official and by no means limited to what has already been mentioned. Personally, I wish more were included, but based on what we can see so far, it looks like a decent line-up.
