The N85 and N79 are the two latest N-series phones from Nokia which are set to debut next month in the UK, and the rest of the world thereafter.

The N85 carries over most of the design elements found in the N81, but improves on its features by incorporating a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, geotagging, and a brilliant 2.6-inch AMOLED display that'll make Ngage game play more thrilling than ever. Details also point to a bundled 8GB microSDHC card though this would likely be determined by the country and its corresponding distributor.

The N79, meanwhile, is the successor to the N78. It’ll also now come with a 5-megapixel camera complemented by a dual-LED flash, and will feature changeable front and back covers that will make it an ideal phone for trendy digital fashionistas. 3G, GPS and WiFi connectivity will also be part of the package.

While they may easily be mistaken for their current counterparts, make no mistake that these two new models are more feature-packed than their predecessors. Looking at the common factor between the N85 and N79, I guess it's safe to say that 5-megapixels is fast becoming the new norm in camera phones. I wonder when WiFi and 3G become standard as well?
