Google Phone is a sure thing, but what Google isn't so sure about is the Qualcomm 3G chip, which may delay the GPhone launch date to next year. Without 3G, the GPhone may be in stores by the end of this year, using only Texas Instrument's EDGE chip.
The Google Phone has been rumored to be a Linux device with Java applications. It will have its own browser that will resemble Opera Mini. The real interesting bit here is that GPhone may not run Linux at all but a totally new and proprietary operating system from Google.
