Who can remember their cell phone model number?
Textually points to a Mobile Europe report that says 58% of mobile users don’t know the make and model of handset they own. Not surprising actually. In May of last year I observed this first hand at a youth panel discussion: Not one of the panel members knew the actual model number of their phone. In fact, a couple did not even know the manufacturer. Instead, they referred to their phones as things like ‘a Telus flip one’. Us phone geeks often get caught up in the specs and forget that the vast majority don’t give a rat’s arse about HSDPA Bluetooth 1.3MP AAC iMode PTT. In fact, just last week I was out for dinner with a friend and asked her how she liked her Q. She responded, Oh, actually it’s a Motorola. I don’t like it that much but I love the Bubble Breaker game.
