iOS 4.1 is now available for download to developers which gives us a preview of what we can expect in the final version which will hopeful be rolled out soon. As expected, this iOS 4 update comes with a new signal bar system that will report signal strength more accurately. We doubt though that this will completely resolve the iPhone 4 signal reception issue as we’ve clearly seen on video that there is a hardware aspect to the whole problem.

Apart from the reformulated signal bars, it also comes with a redesigned Game Center, and now features the option to turn off Check Spelling in Keyboard preferences. Below is a comparison between the current Game Center and the new one courtesy of Mobile Crunch.

Not confirmed yet is the rumor that it also comes loaded with a new security feature to deter jailbreak attempts. According to Unwiredview, once jailbroken, iOS 4.1 will leave a nasty watermark on your iPhone/iPod Touch. There have been no reports yet of this happening, but if you’re wondering what tool can be used to jailbreak iOS 4.1 beta, the simple answer to that is redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5. This particular redsn0w jailbreak tool is actually meant for iOS 4, but apparently, it works just fine with this new beta firmware update. If you want to give this a go, just click here to download the Windows version or here if you’re on a Mac.

We're sure there are more treats this firmware has to offer, but unfortunately, this is all we have for now. If you're a developer and have downloaded iOS 4.1 beta already, do share with us the new goodies you've found loaded on this new firmware as we'd certainly love to hear more about it.
