Here’s some news that will be of special interest to you folks out there who have fallen in love with the Google Nexus One phone at first sight of it.
Reuters has just posted an article stating that it could become available as early as January 5 with Google selling it directly to consumers. This is according to one of their sources familiar with the matter who further goes on to reveal that a deal with T-Mobile USA is also being worked out at the same time. T-Mobile has refused to comment on the issue, but this does tie in nicely with our recent post that the Google Nexus One has been approved by the FCC with both AT&T and T-Mobile 3G on-board. The article, unfortunately, didn’t go as far as to disclose a possible retail price. Be that as it may, it wouldn’t hurt to start saving up for the Nexus One now since January 5th is just less than a month away.
As a quick recap, some of the known specs of the Nexus One include a 5-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1 OS, and now you can add a 3.7-inch WVGA OLED touchscreen to that short list as well. If the release date proves to be true, Google should be making an official announcement anytime now regarding this Android-flavored Snapdragon-powered HTC-made Google-branded Nexus One touchscreen phone.
