They just posted a link on their official Twitter account to a Softpedia article talking about the XPERIA X3 Android phone and its possible launch date next month. Even though Ericsson is just one half of the combined entity known as Sony Ericsson, it wouldn't be far stretched to suggest that this tweet more or less confirms that the company’s intention to launch an Android offering. We’re not too sure how Sony or Sony Ericsson as whole will react to this tweet, but we'll admit, its definitely got us giddy with excitement.

To date, we’ve heard that the XPERIA X3 (also known as the Rachael) will come with a 4-inch 800x400 display, 8.1-megapixel AF camera, Snapdragon processor, 10Mbps HSDPA, WiFi, A-GPS, and Bluetooth. It’s still not clear what version of Android it will come with but you can be sure we’ll be keeping an ear open for that information.
