Audiophiles can be happy with wireless too

from The Indian Express

At Rs 39,990, the Sennheiser IE 80 S BT is an investment. But for those who love and value their music, this is an investment you will not regret. This is an investment you will value every time you play the Sennheiser IE 80 S BT. After all, a great music experience is priceless.

And this is especially since the price jumps back up to a wallet-busting $999.

The IE800S is an incredibly well-designed IEM, with a ton of included goodies packaged along with it. It is lightweight, with a clean, refined and ever-so-slightly bright but immensely detailed sound.  I now have a new benchmark for the largest soundstage I’ve heard produced by an in-ear monitor. Overlooking the cable noise (hopefully this will be addressed in a future release), I have no hesitation recommending Sennheiser's new IE800S flagship In-Ear Monitors.

High-end headphones, but the sound needs a polish

It is overall a quite fine presentation, but at this price we want to be moved and, despite the upturn in detail with these Sennheisers, the best in-ears at even a quarter of the price do that better. It is overall a quite fine presentation, but at this price we want to be moved and, despite the upturn in detail with these Sennheisers, the best in-ears at even a quarter of the price do that better. There’s also an irritating amount of cable noise, which is impossible to ignore and to negate this you must sit absolutely still. For anyone planning to use the IE 800 S on the move, it is a disappointing return for what is a hefty wedge of money.
