The ATH-CKS5TW's spec sheet puts them in the same area as the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1, which are cheaper and offer better balanced sound tonally. But, if you want a big sound with plenty of bass then the ATH-CKS5TW have it in spades – and at £149, they’re not hugely expensive. They just lack a killer feature to mark themselves out from their rivals.

Long battery life at a decent price

from Engadget

For well under $200, you’ll get excellent battery life and decent sound on the ATH-CKS5TW. Unfortunately, there are a lot of handy features that are missing, and some of them are pretty basic. The price and 15 hours of playback on the buds themselves is attractive on paper, but you have to be willing to overlook a few faults.

The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS5TW does a lot right: an extremely long battery life, fast charging and good speech intelligibility on the receiver side. Other issues, such as the balance of the frequency spectrum, the handling or the lack of current additional functions such as noise-cancelling or transparency mode, are not solved so well. Therefore the ATH-CKS5TW are recommended especially for lovers of massive bass reproduction, because they will get their money’s worth!

Offering incredible battery life, seamless operation, excellent audio with solid bass and great noise isolation, there’s a lot to like here, especially for such a reasonable price. The carry case is a tad on the big side, but we reckon it's worth the trade-off for that sweet 45-hour battery life. The fit of the earbuds didn't feel entirely intuitive to us – we literally had to practice taking them in and out before we hit the streets – and we did find that they protruded from our ears a little more than we'd have liked. Having said that, they did feel reasonably snug and after all, the design and fit will always come down to personal preference.

Big on bass, big on battery life

from TechRadar

The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS5TW ups the bass compared to the brand’s usual neutral sound, for a mix well suited to true-wireless earbuds. However, the fit may take some getting used to.

Relaxed yet focused sound

And the sound quality is a huge step up from whatever default earbuds you're still using with your phone (no judgement... okay maybe a little). The bass is indeed solid, and the mids and highs are relaxed and full of detail.

Bass-heads will definitely enjoy the juicy lows that the CKS5TW provide. And the sound isolation is great, making them a much better option for commuters that the AirPods, at least in this respect.  Furthermore, the 45 hours of battery life is fantastic, considering that the $300 Sennheiser Momentum TW only offers 12. That being said, the level of clarity is less than spectacular. And if you’re looking for a particularly clean sound, you might want to consider Audio-Technica’s higher priced TW model.
