What the Critics Are Saying...

Fone Arena

At a price of Rs. 7999, this is the best Kindle with a built-in light you can get for the price. If you need a high-resolution screen, more storage and a waterproof body, go for the new Paperwhite, if you can spend more

- Srivatsan Sridhar, Fone Arena

We still think the Paperwhite is the best value for money Kindle around (even if you go for the previous editions, which are available at lower prices) if you really want to do some heavy duty e-book reading, but if you are just starting out with e-books and/or are on tight budget, the All New Kindl...

If sometime in the future, technology enables a paper-like texture that is matte or better still grungy or relatively rough, it would mimic paper in the true sense. Till then, we got to settle for the second best experience to paper. And with that as reference, the Kindle does offer you that. Since...

If all you want to do is read then this is right up your alley. It is cheap, small and lightweight, easy to set-up and use, can be used in any lighting scenario and is of course backed by the biggest e-book store in the world, Amazon’s Kindle Store.

Till then, we got to settle for the second best experience to paper. And with that as reference, the Kindle does offer you that. Since I’m again not a big proponent of the higher end Kindle readers, the Kindle 2019 is a product worth buying if you want to stay away from your smartphone to read.

The Kindle (2019) is one of Amazon's most affordable Kindle devices. It is true there is no waterproofing and the display, which can prove to be store house for dust and breadcrumbs, looks a little less exciting but if you can look past that, a front-display and all the Kindle-y features that I have mentioned before at a price less than Rs 10,000 make the Kindle (2019) a total catch.

Offers a solid reading experience at a great price

If you do not need any water resistance on a Kindle, this all-new one should be perfect for the masses. The reading experience was excellent and I did not see any significant difference in performance between it and my Kindle Oasis.

Just doesn't have enough features to justify the price hike

from NDTV

If you're okay with paying a premium just for the front light, the Kindle (10th Gen) won't disappoint you. However, most people could just get the lower priced Kindle at Rs. 5,999 along with an affordable clip-on light attachment. It might not be elegant solution but it does the same thing at a lower price.

The best e-reader for most people

The Kindle is one of my all-time favorite gadgets. It does only one job, but it does it exceptionally well. With its fantastic form-factor, lighting, and access to a larger library than you’ll ever need in your pocket, the new entry-level Kindle is one of the best e-readers around.

Amazon's cheapest Kindle works fine for reading books, but the low resolution e-ink screen might be a turnoff.
