Great phone---maybe room for improvement

Ive had this phone for almost two years. I haven't had the issue of over heating like I have read in several reviews. But the battery life is excellent. Mine usually lasts for 3-5 days depending on my use. (heavy use 3 days/light use 5 days) The only issue that I really had was that I don't use voicemail and tried for the first 6 months to get Virgin Mobile to shut it off and everything they tried, they could not get it shut off. I haven't ever had an issue with any other Virgin Mobile phone with getting the voicemail shut off. Also, the blue-tooth seems to like to disconnect by itself for no reason. Not sure why it does that, but that could be improved. Overall, it is a great phone. Less

She complains all the time that she DOES NOT have a signal while mine does. We'll be in a Target and I would have all my signal bars and she'll have none. When she goes out of town, she takes my Slice with her because she knows it's more reliable. I have never had any trouble with this phone. I've own the Slice phone for 4yrs and I'm still using it :D Less

Pressing a combination of keys in my pocket dialed 911, and I had them call me back 3 or 4 separate times asking what my emergency was. I had a phone like this before from virgin mobile where you could lock the keys when its in your pocket, and I never had 911 call me. Luckily this phone went through the washer on accident I guess it was an accident, and it gave me a reason to get a new phone. I now have the LG Flare from virgin mobile and it has been an excellent cell phone. I wouldn't recommend this phone unless you have a lot of unexpected emergencies. Less

Because I dont use it that much, so far this phone service has been absolutely free. Great deal for a low profile user such as myself. Its small and flat. Fits in my pocket well. Came with free charger and car charger and batteries last reasonably long. Less

Cute phone, a few glitches

from Amazon
Pros: Very compact, sleek and cool, sharp screen, very affordable. Cons: Buttons are WAY too small (i frequently mis-dial), battery dies VERY quickly (re-charge every 3 days?! crazy). I'm ready to ask for a return, awesome looking phones only go so far.

I can not understand half of what people are saying when I am using this phone, even when the signal strength is at the highest level. Every time I tried to use this phone I had to switch to the land line to finish the conversation. Virgin has lost text messages that I knew were sent but which never arrived to this phone. I have used a half of dozen cell phones in the last few years and this is by far the worst of them. I am returning my phone. Do not buy this phone if you need a cell phone that works. Less

The phone itself is excellent with great call quality and plenty of features (alarm clock, world clock, speakerphone etc.) as well as the sleek thin design.Battery life is excellent on stand by (only needs charging once a week) i'm not sure of how long it last while talking but I find myself charging it about 3 or 4 times a day from texting but to be fair I do send about 3000 text a day. My only problem is the ringtones and games are expensive (about 2.99 each) and the wap (internet access) is 4.99 for 5mb or for a months access which ever comes first. 5mb is a very small amount of data and I usually reach the limit in a weeks time. On the bright side virgin offers a program which allows you to earn free mintues by watching 1 mintue video ads or replying to free text from virgin. You can get 71 free mintues a month so I suppose it equalizes the cost of expensive games, tones and wap. Bottom line if your looking for a great phone to be used for the basics this is for you but if you wanna surf the net and use it as a handheld entertainment center you should probably look for a phone from another service provider such as heilo which offers a much cheaper alternative. P.S You can set this phone to a ring and vib funtion at the same time (I think I saw in another review that you couldn't) and international texting to canada was only 5 cents recieving and sending. Its also cheaper to buy directly from virgins site (39.99) Less

I had this phone for one day before the screen blew up..hadn't even made a call! My problems started when I installed the battery; I couldn't get the battery cover back on to save my life. After about 20 minutes I finally succeeded but it never really aligned properly with the bottom of the phone. I imagine if I'd kept the phone I would have been replacing the cover regularly. Then I couldn't get it activated. I tried on line and their web site crashed, then when I called for help the phone wouldn't take the commands their rep told me to put in. I had to take the battery out and start over twice! Finally I thought I had it, went to bed that night without using it and when I turned it on the next day the screen was corrupted with some kind of red "splat!" graphic. Nothing I did made it come back on and I could not get an answer from VM about what it could be. Finally I contacted Amazon and arranged a return which is now in progress. They promised me a full refund. We'll see ;) Less
