Pros small, fit into any pocket durable talk for ever, i hardly ever charged this phone it was amazing. i loved how it lit up when messages were received. the buttons took awhile to get used to but what can you expect from such a small phone? the only reason i ever got a new one was cause my cousin dropped into the pool. i am really sad telus no longer carries it . i would trade my black berry for this little phone. the no blue tooth was annoying but i just sent all my pictures to my email, and had no problems. the ringer was loud which was also a good thing. the only complaint which was when i was in class it would beep when a new message came threw which kinda gave me away a few times. over all the best phone ive ever had. I'm on my 4th year with this phone now, to all you veteran cell phone users that about 4 times the life span of the current crap they're putting out. I use it to text, talk and take an occasional picture as the camera really isn't that good. I still get complements on it, people tell me its a cool little phone. Then I tell them it's 4 years old, naturally they're suprised. Now I'm worried about getting a new phone that won't be as robust and reliable as this little guy. I would recommend this phone if talking and texting is all you need it for, it has never let me down. Nathan Less

I was a little worried about reliability when I bought this phone as UT starcomm was formerly Audiovox which did not have a good rep for building reliable phones, so I bought a 3 year warranty for this phone but have never had to bring it in for service or repair in the three years that I have had this phone normally I would never buy an extended warranty but because of the bad experience I had with a telus phone that died out halfway through a 3 year contract I decided I should have some extra warranty on a phone that was new to the market back then and an unknown as far as reliabilty went of the very few technical problems I had with the phone the main one was if I was going through the text messaging menus very quickly, the phone might freeze up. disconnecting the battery and then powering back up always solved this problem, in the three years I have had the phone it has only happened about a half dozen times when the phone was new the numeric keypad buttons were very stiff and slow to use but after awhile they broke in and softened up and were much quicker the camera was a dissapointment, only 0.3 megapixels even three years ago was not great and with no flash renedered it useless in anything other than broad daylight or a well lit room, pictures were always fuzzy and I was never able to transfer the pics out of the camera, telus has the software programmed so you cannot download pics by a cable and you have to send the pics by the web and then download them from there which never worked even once! thanks a lot telus! the camera became useless to me, also the shutter sound effect this camera makes everytime you take a picture is annoying and cant be turned off pics can be saved to phone numbers but once a pic is deleted from your photo album it is also deleted from your address book and this camera holds very few pics, another nearly useless feature no bluetooth meant having to use a cordered headset which keep breaking, I have gone through 4 wired headsets in three years at over the cost of an outstanding jawbone bluetooth headset that would be so much better than any of best jabra wired headsets I have bought number 6 on the speed dial would never remember the phone number that was entered all other speed dial buttons worked fine and never lost the numbers programmed a good feature is that the ac charger uses a pin style jack so it doesnt wear out, a feature I was looking for after I had problems with my old motorola V60 the size and weight of the phone are very convenient and I although I would have prefered a slider phone (which werent avail from telus at the time I was stuck in the middle of my contract and their phone died on me) the stick was an ok alternative the colours of the phone are very nice and the screen has been fairly scratch resistant even without a case wasnt crazy about the choice of ringer styles on the phone, there are no games on this phone if that matters to you battery has been good the whole time I have had this phone usually getting about 2 hours plus of talk time, sound quality has been decent and reception also very good overall a good reliable no frills phone for talking on but thats about all Less

The UTStarcom 860 (CDM8460) is quite a small phone – entering my contact list was a painful experience, since the keypad is slightly larger than the first digit on my thumb. The phone’s small size and its button arrangement took some time to get used to. I would like a louder earpiece and the ability to turn off the shutter sound when snapping pictures, delete factory sounds, and set ringers as voice recordings (to make your own ringtones). The memory is sufficient since it is not an mp3 phone, and the picture quality is not the greatest, but it’s only .3MP. The battery lasts longer than I expected it would. Overall I am satisfied for what I paid ($0 with only a 1-yr contract) and it sure beats the nightmare I previously called a phone (LG 3200). Just be sure you try it on for size before buying it. Excellent!

I didn''t want a flip phone - sounds lazy, but its an extra step - and it takes two hands (my dexterity is somewhat lacking). This phone is awesome. Battery seems to last a long time, its teeny tiny, fits everywhere without a big bulge (i''m a girl, so I prefer to not have bulges!) ;) The pictures... More

If i''m on a trip, i''m taking a digital camera anyways, so no biggie. The camera itself is very intuitive and easy to use, but with lots of features. :) Love it! Less
