GSMArena

An excellent keypad, a brilliant display, plenty of storage space and top-quality earphones

from GSMArena

If you are hesitating, whether you should buy Sony Ericsson W800 or its successor W810, you should only really consider which color version you like best. The rest of the properties and the applications in these two phones are identical. Well, except EDGE, this is available in Sony Ericsson W810 only. I myself find W810 slightly more "plastic-looking" than the W800 model. Of course, this doesn't mean that its constructional qualities are worse, though. On the contrary! I just mean that the materials used in Sony Ericsson W810 both feel and seem to the eye a little bit less valuable...

I myself find W810 slightly more "plastic-looking" than the W800 model. Of course, this doesn't mean that its constructional qualities are worse, though. On the contrary! I just mean that the materials used in Sony Ericsson W810 both feel and seem to the eye a little bit less valuable.

So what has Sony Ericsson W810 to offer - an excellent keypad with surprisingly good keys, a brilliant display, plenty of storage space and top-quality earphones that come in the original package with the phone. In addition, fast menu reactions and one of the best camera applications since photo mobiles first appeared on the market. On the other hand, W810 camera lens is not protected and the overall design of the phone is not as attractive as the one of the forerunner. In general, however, there are very few drawbacks that are worth mentioning, even though Sony Ericsson W810 is set on the constructional and design plans of the one-year old W800.

But now it isn't a good phone at all. The phone was fantastic from day one! After about 11 months though it would randomly turn off from a bit of a bump, but nothing too hard. Just before the warranty expired I had it sent in, and was told there was nothing wrong with it. It continued to do this, so I stuck a piece of paper between the battery and the door, and usually this prevented turn offs. Well, now it turns off sitting on my night table in the middle of the night. It's driving me crazy and now i want nothing to do with it!! Less

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this phone! After I've used and abused this phone for 2 years the earbud (hands-free) jack started giving me issues. For example only one earbud would work, or none at tall. Great phone, got is as a great deal, and didin't want get a new one! May be a little old now, but if you do get it, trust me you won't need another one for at least 1 or 2 years. Less

For starters, I would like to state that I have had the phone for almost 3 years, as my contract is coming up for renewal with Rogers. In that time, this phone has been nothing but flawless. The software is excellent. The camera is great. The MP3 playing abilities, interface and sound quality is off the hook. The phone is quite tough as well as I've dropped it over a dozen times. It may hesitate for a minute, only once I've had to shut it off and back on again, but continues to work like new.Its been sligtly wet from light rain, no problems. The fact that I can use the flash like a flashlight (which I used almost everyday for about 4 months) is priceless. Its SO bright. I got stuck with my POS car and used it for 2 hrs to fix my car in the cold, and STILL made a few calls to let fam know I was ok!! I was hesitant to get a bar style phone after a history of flips and now, I find flip phones just something else to break/go wrong. Buttons are great for big hands, laid out well. Only reason my review is not 100% is the cover to the Micro SD card... if you drop it at the right angle, it will shoot out as it's spring loaded. I got a 4GB card as a promo, and swaped it out and the cover is bowed out because the rubber or plastic has stretched. Batt life is awesome STILL. Call quality and reception are excellent. This phone has not degraded in any way at all, other then the one minor picky point I mentioned. I'll have this phone till it dies, and I'll be sad when it does. Great tech support at Sony too! Knowledgeable staff. Thanks Sony! (Rogers custie service SUCKS!) Less

I miss my phone soooooo much Less

I also like the way the camera has a LED light because it can be used as a flash light.I would give this phone a 8/10 raiting. Less
