The Samsung SCH-U706 Muse is a 3G CDMA clamshell with a focus on music. Midnight blue in color, this flip comes with 64MB on board memory with microSD expansion, Bluetooth with stereo support, external touch-sensitive music keys, and especially interesting is a dedicated key for ringtones and direct access to the MP3 player. There is also a 2.5mm headset jack.
Measuring 99x48x13mm and weighing only 3.4 ounces, the Muse also offers a 2.0 megapixel camera with video capability, a 1,000 contact address book, speakerphone, GPS support with Axcess Mobile Guide preloaded, and the ever present alarm, calculator and calendar.
Inside you’ll find a 2.1” 240x320 pixel resolution display supporting 262,144K colors, and a familiar and simple numeric keypad and navigation array. Although the navigation array is set above the keypad, it is still a bit cramped. With a little practice however, that shouldn't pose too big of a problem. Talk time is rated at 230 minutes and standby time is rated at 215 hours.
The Muse allows you to text, MMS, listen to music, all in an attractive and comfortable casing.
Note: The Muse is very similar to Verizon's Gleam. Unlike the Gleam, the Muse adds the touch music controls mentioned above, the dedicated music button and Alltel's custom Celltop widget-like interface.
