Despite a few minor flaws, Verizon's Samsung music focused spinner is, as the song says, "a juke box hero" in my eyes. The built-in 2GB of internal storage proved adequate for storage of my music files - and then some. I had plenty of music to keep me entertained for hours and, better yet, with Samsung's inclusion of Bluetooth stereo, I did this all without wires. This incredibly small and compact device also gave us good audio quality to boot. With the exclusion of 3G data on the Juke, users will definitely be able to keep wireless bills to a minimum. With all that being said, I give the Samsung Juke a "Highly Recommended" rating.Less
great phone, love it!
great design, beautiful color/casing, perfect size, comfortable to hold/carry/use, great sound quality, pretty durable, and amazing battery life I've had it about a year and a half now, and it is possibly my favorite of phones i've ever owned and/or used! Yeah, i prefer this little guy to any blackberry/iphone/treo out there-- much more comfortable on your ear. I'm also not really interested in being able to check email/internet all the time or playing games on my phone, so if you're looking for that kind of thing, this isn't it. The battery generally lasts about 5 days with normal use (less if you play music) and charges pretty fast (and through USB if you want).Less
Best phone I ever owned
It is so sad they discontinued this phone. I've had mine for two years now and I'm about to have to say goodbye. I was stupid enough not to get insurance on it when I got it, and it turns out, while it would have been nice, it was not needed. I had a teething puppy chew on it, dropped it more times than I can count, the button that keeps the battery in place popped off from being dropped so many times, and once even lost it in snow for 20 minutes. Through all that, it still works great. The button no longer turns thanks to my dog's teeth and it refuses to sync or play music any longer, (no idea why that last part, but I suspect brain damage from frequent droppings.) Like I said, it would have been nice to be able to replace the phone for one without teeth marks, or whenever it lost the ability to sync and play music, but it wasn't necessary. The phone still works great, takes suprisingly good pictures considering its size, when the music player did work, it was clear and could get loud enough for me to entertain everyone in a Walmart backroom which is huge, and the color is beautiful. My only complaints are the sound quality for phone calls isn't so great. I can't understand half of what people are saying to me when they call, I frequently got ribbed for the size of the phone (though I personally like it, it is pretty small which makes viewing pictures on it hard,) and it has no video recorder. But considering everything else you get, especially the enormous memory for music files, (which is the reason I got it in the first place,) it was well worth the buy. I do, however, strongly reccomend getting insurance for this phone because it lost the ability to sync to computers or even play music after awhile. I still don't know whether that was my fault or a standard bug that pops up in all phones, but it really would have been nice to replace my phone once it stopped playing music.Less
Great Little Phone!
This handy little phone has served me well for almost two years and I still love it! Originally I bought it because of the small size and the features. The main things I wanted were: - small size (fit in your pocket and not be bulky) - bluetooth capable & voice recognition - MP3 player It has lived up to those requirements very well. I love using my Jabra earphone for voice dialing and listening to music. It is also more durable than I expected. The swivel has not been a problem at all. It still works as well as the first day out of the box. I usually keep the phone in my shirt pocket and have dropped it many times. It still works just fine. I expected the cover for the charging plug to break off after a while, but it too is in good condition. Downside: - I wish it had more memory or a slot for a micro SD - Small screen is hard to read but I knew that going in (small phone was my main goal) - Increased camera pixel count and ability to copy directly to computer would be nice. Overall voice quality and usage of the phone is excellent.Less
Need polish, But great still great!
The phone is great, it's nice and small, plays music, and isn't limited by provider like my razr v3m. The only reason this isn't 5 star, the programing feel's like it needs some polish. When closed the phones display stay the same direction, so it feels upside down, then you open and your wrongside up. If the screen fliped when...fliped! it would be great. Also i wish it had some more themes, you get black or red.Less
An absolutely amazing phone!
I got the juke 2 years ago when my old contract expired. At the time it was free with a 2 year contract, so I just went with it. It was an awesome choice! This phone is small and slim, which to some is unatractive. I found that it was actually very convinient; I didn't have to worry about it not fitting in my pocket. The music player is wonderful, sounds just like any iPod. And when you put the music on speaker, while the sound quality goes down, you can raise the volume level very high. Once you get used to the small keyboard it is totally fine. One of my major concerns was that mayube if I swung it open too often the top would eventually come flying off. I have sat and played with it by swinging it for hours on end and it is still attached and hasn't even loosened. I have also dropped it on countless occasions, even into snow and pouddles, and while there are scratches, it still works great! The only problem is that sometimes if you litne to music for more than a few hours it will freeze, and you have to remove the battery pack and tunr it back on. This phone is great and not just for a kids phone. 5 stars all the way!Less
Great, great phone.
I had this phone for a year-and-a-half, and it never let me down. The battery lasted for around 3 days of casual use and charged within 5 hours. I have dropped it out of multiple moving cars, hah, and barely a scratch. It was just right in size, I never lost it, not too small to lose, not too large as to be cumbersome. The keypad is perfect for texting, with big buttons. The MP3 player is very good, except for the headphones, you can't use regular ones, and the ones they sell always hurt my ears; but since I had an iPod, it didn't matter much to me. The camera was superb, I took 77 pictures within 5 minutes once. But, in May, I was on a field trip with my National Junior Honors Society to Universal, and on the Hulk ride, it slipped out of my pocket on the first hill. Eighteen months of bliss turned to a second of blustery blunder. Hah, I loved it, great buy:))Less
I love this little phone!
I got this phone on christmas 6 months ago. It has been BY FAR the best phone i've ever had! I'm pretty hard on phones (i tend to drop and break them) but this phone is completly solid. It is durable and works great, i've had no problems with it that werent my fault. The buttons are small but they arent too small to make it difficult to type as i was afraid of. It has great memory and the sound quality is perfect for talking and listening to music. The only downfall is the fact that you cant connect to itunes (my main music program) and transfering music from itunes to windows is a hassle but once you get the music it is great. I would recomend this phone to anyone for sure... I'm sad to have to replace it due to the fact that my soda exploded all over it and it no longer works. maybe i'll get another juke.Less
Pro: Great Service Con: The wheel quit working after 10 months I like the phone it works for me and what I need in a phone. The wheel quit working and When My husband took it into lakeland verizon waited 45 min. while the staff waited on 2 customers 1 each (everyone else standing around)He was told they could not do anything about it.it had been a year at this time. But if we add another year to our now 1 year plan they would help us get another phone. We have 2 of this model and have the same problem with both.1 MORE YEAR!!!!Less
This is a very cute phone: it is small and gets a lot of comments from people. As a cell phone, it is very reliable. I used this phone for almost 2 years with no problems. As an MP3 player, it is barely tolerable. The sound quality is relatively poor and the volume at its highest level isn't loud enough to use on a plane. I bought this hoping to eliminate the need to carry an iPOD with me when traveling, but this is no substitute for an iPOD. However, if you're just looking for a small, reliable phone and don't care much about features, this is a good option.Less
Even an old man loves this phone!
When I went to buy a new phone I wanted something compact that would slide easily into my pocket. I am tired of lugging around a large phone on my belt. I am a bit old school (48 years old) as I wanted a simple phone and did not need alot of features (like text messaging and email). I was nervous at first the capabilities of this phone. I have been pleasantly surprised how well the phone operates and how simple it is to use. I am never used an MP3 player before (I told you I was old school) so I decided to give this a try. The MP3 player was surprisingly easy to set up and use. Now I have all my favorite songs at my finger tips. The player interacted with Windows Media Player perfectly and quickly. I like that I can answer the phone without having to flip open the phone. The alarm works like it should and the font is large enough for my young eyes. I have owned it for 8 weeks and I honestly cant find a down side to owning this phone. The features were well thought out and easy to use. OWN THIS PHONE!Less
