Bad reception, battery time, key placement

Reception is not very good. Could be Rogers network, but I don't think so. Battery time is quite poor. Very frustrating that you have to charge every day, whether you talk much or not. I don't even use any of the other features like camera, mp3, games. Camera activation button on side of phone is ridiculous, especially considering the battery issues. There should at least be some way to lock this thing so you don't accidentally trigger it. The "Ok" button has been commandeered by Rogers for their internet crap. That's a provider thing, but worth noting, beacuse it happens with various providers. Phone otherwise has good features, for a fairly low price. Good for a teeny-bopper, but not someone who wants sound design and reliability. Spend your money and get something better. Less

Not bad, could be better

I've had it for almost a year, and i've had to send it in to get re programmed once, almost twice. Bad service in most places. Wouldn't recommend it.

Samsung T609

This phone freezes. Hard to hear, the phone will not get louder causing you to push the phone up against your head. Phone shuts off by it's self. Outside display doesn't always show the time. Flip is very floppy.

Overall I am happy with this phone for the following reasons: Compactness, bluetooth, and it works The flaws: Volume adjustment - top volume is not quite loud enough to hear when driving. I have good hearing! Accidently hit button for camera (it on the outside of phone)when its in your pocket and you've taken 20 black photos and drains battery. This happens ALL the time. Battery life: Obeyed all battery rules (fully charge before 1st use, don't recharge until battery drained) and it lasted 4 months before having to replace - only getting 4-5 hours of time - probably because of camera! People I call complain of louder than normal background noise. Overall it works, I am happy that it fits in a little clutch handbag. Less

Agressive Fixed Menus, hate it !

The menus and shortcuts are not user programmable. Instead they are customized by the skunky service providers, who abuse your property (the phone) to push their garbage (advertising). The menus and shortcuts are not user programmable. Instead they are customized by the skunky service providers, who abuse your property (the phone) to push their garbage (advertising). My T609 purchased from Rogers has replaced the OK button with internet, the back key with (BUY stuff), and the menu key defaults to (BUY stuff) !!! The voice recognition key (*) has been disables, so that the user has to press a minimum of 3 keys to access the voice prompt, which begs the question: What is the point of using voice recognition in the first place. Rogers blames Samsung, Samsung blames rogers and neither is willing to address the problem. Less

So I had just recently gotten this phone, overall I really enjoy using it - it's easy to us, nice graphics, good functions, etc, but one thing really annoyed me, and that had to do with it's software. I knew it has mp3 features so I wanted to try it out, so i ran the software and decided to plug the phone into my laptop via a usb cord since my laptop didn't have bluetooth or a working SD slot. To my annoyance it didn't work, it (the software) just kept trying to connect to my phone for the longest time, I ended up waiting a bit more then an hour before I started to call customer service, eventually I was passed through to a samsung representative (who was quite rude), who told me that since I hooked it up to an laptop it would not work since the usb slot on my laptop was not strong enough. I ended up transferring music via a SD slot on my friends laptop. So besides that little problem, I've really enjoyed my phone and would keep it :D Less
