RATING

3.7/10
Informr score
The Samsung SPH-M320 currently has an Informr score of 3.7 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 25 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

The Samsung M320 is a good choice if you are looking for a basic phone. Unlike many entry level phones, the M320 offers Bluetooth, voice dialing and a camera, three useful features often not found at this price point.

People looking for a good, simple device will like this attractive flip. In addition to making calls, you can text, MMS, access the internet and take pictures.

The external monochrome display is bright and displays time, signal and battery strength. On the inside, the main display is of excellent quality for an entry level phone, capable of producing over 262k colors.

Another selling point of the M320 is that it is one of the lightest phones on the market, weighing only 2.7 ounces or 77 grams.

The Samsung M320 is a durable phone and a solid choice for folks looking for a simple but competent device.

It makes me want to smash things.

I try to erase that and the phone freezes up. When it eventually wakes back up (usually 30 seconds or so) it erases the entire message. On the plus side, it puts on quite the show when microwaved (that's a joke... don't microwave your phone, stupid). Less

Garbage

As everyone else has said, this phone is a piece of garbage, it crashes while texting, it gets confused by incoming phone calls - to the point where it restarts itself, the ringer only activates sometimes. The kicker: awful call quality too.

It would freeze, back up, erase, and now it is possessed and fires out random words with T9 (please tell me how "came" or "Anne" became "am6com"). That, I could deal with - simply switch over to ABC for words with the numberpad combo (hassle). Now? The battery's on the fritz. It won't take a charge from any house charger, even though we've bought three. It will, periodically, take a charge from the car charger. It's now "ghost charging" as I took the battery out and plugged it up (the in/out beep is still going on) so I'm starting to wonder if I need to call a priest. Please, dear lord, spend your money elsewhere. Hello, Verizon! Less

I went to Sprint 3 times to get it fixed and each time they did a hard reset on it. It worked for a few days and then went back to it's old crappy ways. When people text me for business, half of the time the text does not go though. The third time I went to sprint, I told them how many times I got the hard reset done and that my friends phone had the same problem and they said that it must be a glitch in the software and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I want to break it, oh wait, IT'S ALREADY BROKEN!

This is the crappiest phone I have ever had. I got it for $49.99 on prepaid (which for this phone is greatly- over priced, it's a piece of junk) on Virgin Mobile Canada in the summer last year. It has basic features - a lot that don't work. For example, the camera is messed up - sometimes it saves my pictures, sometimes they turn out black & no, I'm not out of memory. Another example is the suckish 3-way calling - I called my friend, and used the 3 way call to call another. It cut my first friend off. Oh, and to make matters worse, under 6 months in, the cover of the phone (the shiny black cover with the Samsung logo and the outside display on it) broke off. I had to hot glue it back on, but it still constantly falls off. It's actually broke into 2 pieces recently. I am desperately looking for a new phone. DO NOT BUY THIS! Less

I've had a lot of inexpensive and simple phones in my life, and I would take any of them back over this "nice" and expensive phone! this phone is supposed to be worth $200, but now I know why sprint was giving them away for free! (well, at the price of a painful 2 year contract!).this phone is not userfriendly and is very complicated to navigate. the longer I have it, the more it starts to malfuncion. it's difficult to desprcirbe the malfunctions but I'll try. most have to do with text messaging which I use a lot: -It shows me the same text as received twice It insterts numbers in words that I commonly use when using t9. for example "some7imes" The text conversations are saved out of order in the log, so when I look back at the conversation, everything is scrambled and I have to look at the time of the text to see how the convo actually went! When writing texts, it gets stuck sometimes on certain words, expecially when I press next to pick the next word on the list. When I press "back" it erases the whole message instead of just one word or letter, and that message could have taken me like 10 minutes to write! The number pad doesn't light up when it's dark, so I have to turn on my overhead light when I'm texting and driving at night :b the keypad still makes noise when I have the phone on vibrate or silent! DON'T BUY THIS PHONE, EVEN AT A GOOD PRICE. it always makes me wonder if my texts have been properly sent or received! Less

When I got it, I expected a basic phone and not a whole lot. That isn't what I wanted, but it wasn't my pick for a phone. It was bought with a two year contract, and I'm halfway through it. The buttons are wearing out, I have to really put effort into hitting the up button, right button, and half of the number buttons. On top of that, the inbox filing is screwed up. It doesn't always tell me when I get a new text. When its a two part text, I'll receive the second part twice and won't get the first half. When I press alerts, it will send me to the wrong text. If you want to re-read a text conversation, you might as well give up because it will sort in some strange random way with the text you just sent about 5 or 6 down the list, and the one you replied to about 3 or 4 texts above it with another text at the top. It doesn't work and isn't worth any money. Less

Simple basic phone

I bought this phone about 9 months ago. I just wanted a simple phone that worked and that's what I got. Calls are good quality. It's a good phone if you juste want a basic one. The only thing I don't like about it is that I love texting and it doesn't have a qwerty keyboard. It's the only reason why I'm changing it.

Speaker phone is "whack" you have to go through "steps" to get to the speaker button, takes minutes to send or receive a picture, not good for "big hand" people, ear piece volumn is not loud enough, speaker volumn works only in closed doors with no one around, picture taking is not all that, have to struggle to take back of phone off, (make sure you have a piece of tape to grip back)...just straight up garbage!! Within a half hour of having it I wanted to smash it, and of course, it scratched itself instantly so I couldn't trade it in. The keys must be pushed with pinpoint accuracy, it can't keep up with me as I text, T9 cannot handle "sure, think, or straight" (you sure won't be thinking straight after any time trying to text with this), it's very difficult to open with one hand, it doesn't show when you have voicemail (!), and it's vague about new texts received. For the life of me, I can't get the little blue envelope to go away even when I've assiduously read all my texts and checked for new voicemails. I'm not an angry person but being forced to use sorry excuse for a phone this has caused some scary synapse activity and I believe I will repeatedly run it over with great glee once I get my old LG workhorse unlocked and working again. This phone is for phone lovers like the patch is for smokers. I groan and get anxious or angry at the idea of having to use it, and often I'll opt not to msg someone at all. The struggle is not worth it. It's a phone! It shouldn't cause an emotional response. Avoid filling the landfill-don't buy this phone!!! Unless you have an addiction to texting. Then this phone is a perfect choice. Less
