We are quite pleased with the improvements Samsung i780 brings to the i series.It however managed to lose all of our affection with its poor compatibility with third party applications developed for 4:3 aspect ratio screens. After all, the huge availability of native third-party applications is one of the Windows Mobile best selling points. With Samsung i780 however it has the potential of becoming a huge source of frustration thanks to the constant game of trial-and-error.We certainly hope that this might be a unit-specific problem (although we highly doubt it), as with all other things considered, Samsung i780 is a wonderful high-end QWERTY PocketPC, that had the potential of becoming a bestseller among smart devices.”

“The Samsung i780 is a really fantastic device. The form factor oozes with class and the list of features is spectacular considering the device's size. In my opinion, it's the device that gives you the biggest bang for your buck in the market right now. I doubt there is a similarly priced (it's being sold in Malaysia and Singapore for about 530 USD without contract) device equipped with GPS, a full QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA, and packaged with a spare battery!The i780 with all its good looks and technology isn't all that perfect. The stiffness of its keyboard needs to be addressed by Samsung in future models and its optical joystick will either be loved or hated by its users. In fact, the optical joystick could be a deal breaker for some. However, if you can live with its quirky optical touchpad, then the i780 comes with a Highly Recommended rating from us, because no comparable device looks as good whilst still being packed to the brim with everything but the kitchen sink.”
