Samsung Impression

“Overall I am very pleased with the Samsung SGH-a877 Impression for AT&T. There are a few small niggles, like the space bar and the lock button, and I still find the TouchWiz widget tray to very much be a work in progress, but the phone is fun to use in general. An autofocus lens on the camera and a real 3.5mm headphone port on the body would have gone a long way towards making this a real multimedia workhorse, though. It's a capable, attractive handset that sports a truly beautiful touchscreen display. That alone is cause enough to award it a Recommended rating.”

“The Impression is another hit-and-miss device from Samsung. It excels at a number of features, such as the QWERTY keyboard, capable browser and decent camera. Other features, such as the music player, don't fare as well. The hardware is mostly good, with a few foibles that got more annoying with continued use (i.e., the lock/unlock button). The Impression runs the Samsung TouchWiz user interface. It is a decent touch-based UI, but it's not the best one in the world. Considering the price point of some of the competition, the only real advantage the Impression has over some devices is the physical keyboard.”
