Some time during the past decade, phones stopped being just phones and turned into all-purpose multimedia devices. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t buy models that are made mainly for calling and texting anymore just like in the good old days. Consider the Samsung Chrono 2. It’s a basic budget phone that comes in the clamshell form factor.
Although billed as a no-frills entry level handset, it does offer a few useful extras. It boasts a 1-megapixel camera with a bunch of special features which include night mode, multi-shot, white balance, and self-timer. It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity and microSD card support. And it uses a 2.2-inch QVGA panel for its main screen which, when paired with its large alphanumeric keypad, makes messaging easy and straightforward.
The best thing about it is the fact that it’s sold at a very affordable price point. It may not be tough as nails, but if it ever breaks, it’ll be easy on the wallet to replace.
