The "1-Minute" Review

Available in grey or black, the Samsung Link is a full QWERTY candy bar style phone offering Bluetooth with A2DP, 1.3MP camera, MP3 player, web browser, and expandable memory via microSD. It comes with a complete entry-level feature set including alarm, voice memo, tip calculator and speakerphone.

The 2.2-inch 220 x 176 pixel resolution display is decent, especially at this price point.

The Link supports threaded texting, MMS, some voice command functions, and WAP browsing.

If you prefer the candy bar form factor with a full QWERTY, and you're happy with a simple set of features, take a look at the Samsung Link. However, keep in mind that cell phone options are enormous these days, and if you look around, in this case you will find a stronger feature set in a similar price range.

Sturdy phone, has all the basics

I've had this phone for almost 3 years now, and it's still working just fine. It survived many many MANY drops, and a cracked screen from when I accidentally crushed it on a cellphone charm. The phone doesn't have an "=" symbol, and inserts random symbols while you're texting. It could be just the white version of this phone, but over time, the keyboard keys started to wear off, and become and ugly grey/black color. It has a calculator, calendar, alarm, and memo pad that works very well too. Less

It is a great phone for $50!

This is not the BEST phone but is a wonderful phone for $50! It is my first phone and I am very pleased. I have dropped this phone multiple times and it is still working fine. Not the best camera but that's about all that is not good. I definitely recommend it.

i have a samsung link and i love it!!!!!!!

i love this phone its my favourite ive ever had!!!!! the key board is so simple and the screens nice and big if u wear glasses!!!!!!

omg

I dropped this phone in water.. i smashed it on pavement about like 5 times when i was hammered! This phone is actually tank..it wont break..so if your looking for a phone that can actually survive this is the perfect phone

A Great Phone

I had the Samsung Link from September 2009 - September 2010, when my contract said I was eligible for a new phone. Then I got the Samsung Entro. That phone was absoloutely HORRIBLE. Took 10 minutes to start up and froze whenever I pressed the space button. So after 6 monthes with the Entro, I came back to my Link and even though the keyboard is pretty small, I definitely love this phone more than any other one I've had. Less

What more could you want from a $60 phone?

Good battery life, a music player, the camera is ok, it has a full keyboard for texting and it is a better phone than a lot of expensive smart phones. Of course it doesn't do everything... it is a $60 phone.

worst phone i have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i cant even believe it! why is this phone in the market! its the worst phone i have ever had. i've only had it for 4 months and im getting a new one. dont ever ever ever get this phone. it has a glitch were it freezes when it shows missed alerts oh my! worst. it froze 7 times. dont ever get this phone!...More

So i have owend this phone for just over a month and it is the WORST phone I have ever owend. One day randomly my screen decided to Shut of and my battery wil not keep a charge! i have payed $75 for an exted warrenty. I Have tryed everything to return the dumb thing.. Eventully I was able to contact samsung and they have attempted to replace my "link" with the "link 2" Id recomned strongly for anyone who is thinking of buying the link to walk the other way.. The phone is CRAP! I have never dropped my phone or anything and it just stoped working

used to have a LINK

This phone was good. The only problem I had with this was that the letters would sometimkes switch to symbols on its own. VERY ANNOYING. And received texts that were a duplicated message do not show up as a new text. The old message would be re-highlighted which meant you had to search through your texts to find it.

I disagree. Don't listen to this review, i have this phone and i love it. it is great and good for anyone. - never froze, no glitches, and theres nothing wrong with it. this review is bullshit.

My phone tells me I have a message and when I click my friends name to check the message it does not show their message but it says they sent one and they say they sent one it has been doing this ever since I got it

Some of the symbols should be but can't be gotten by the shift key or elsewhere. The contacts section is very useful. By clicking on a persons name you see the phone number, can choose a specific ringer for each contact, see contact history, add a photo, edit the name and there are a few features that aren't explained like hard and soft pause. I like the many features of the phone. I find the memo pad allows little writing. but the voice memo and voice service are unique for people who like listening. Less

pretty good phone

ok, there's a few glitches. what phone doesn't have some? these include, your new message gets lost in your conversation record and you have to search for it, but you can fix this by just deleting the convo every once in a while. this was my second phone and it was much much better than my first. virgi...More
