A Horrible Phone!

Has no camcorder, terrible picture quality, the phone randomly shuts itself off, and the back casing is garbage and falls off by itself. I mean, for the price why not, but if your looking for a good phone, spend a few extra bucks and get a better quality, longer lasting phone! Less

problems

The only problems i have had with this phone is that there is no memory slot, there is no camcorder and that the phone had smaller buttons (my fingers are very fat) than my old phone. But over all this phone is way better then all of my old cell phones.

I had read reviews on the Samsung Hype phone on other sites and frankly I felt disturbed by some of the negative connotetions since I already had my heart set in getting one to replace my aging Nokia 2610. I have owned the Samsung Hype phone for the past 3 days and managed already to have a working undertanding of the entire phone, thanks mainly to the manual available as a free download from Samsang website. The booklet provided with the phone is way too scanty. Read the manual. Within hours of owning the phone I sent several text messages and in some cases I even attached photos taken with the Hype. The Qwerty keyboard may be small but I personally had little trouble mastering it, and my fingers are way stubby. I have downloaded PC Studio and am now on the search for a suitable USB cord. I have no hesitation recommending this phone to others and on a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a solid 9. Well done, Samsung!!!! Less

I got recently one and honestly, It was just so below my expectations. Maybe the physical look is deceiving, the outside look's so unique which will make you think the inside has a lot of features as well. But unfortunately, I am quite disappointed upon scanning the phone. It lacks a lot of features, features which a lot of phones these days possesses having the same price. My aim is not to discourage everyone in buying the phone but I suggest to choose wisely especially that mobile phones now are considered necessity and very useful for our daily lives. I also have a Samsung Jet (S8000) and i am definitely loving it, preferable! :)

Short term usage

I got this when my old krazr broke in the spring to use until my contract with rogers expires in November. I got this when my old krazr broke in the spring to use until my contract with rogers expires in November. It's really pretty, but the camera SUCKS and since I didn't enable internet it has really crappy ringtones and default pictures, and I can't really make my own background by taking a picture because the quality is terrible. Texting can be annoying because the buttons are small and once you select the "send to" button you cant go back to the text to fix anything and have to start over. Its also really easy to accidentally cancel the message if you're not paying attention because the send button is on top of the end button. There's lots of options for any kind of different sound settings, which is way better than my krzr, but there's only one vibrate setting and it sounds like a chainsaw... it's creepy. Anyway, Its a good "in-between" phone to have for less than a year, but I wouldn't recommend it long-term. Less
