Critic consensus
“Even though the J3 (2016) is a basic package, there is still a lot to like about the value-conscious handset, even though it reminds us how little has changed in Samsung's strategy in the low-end in past couple of years. Actually, the latter point will be illustrated even better by some of the J3's competitors and how far they've come. But even with its basic hardware, the phone still has one undisputed draw - the colorful Super AMOLED display, which not too long ago was actually out of reach for even midrangers.”
“For the price, the Samsung Galaxy J3 offers fantastic battery life, solid build quality, and a crisp display. The camera isn't so great and all that bloatware is a bummer, but you can't ask for much more from a $170 carrier phone.”
“The Samsung Galaxy J3 is an 'almost-there' budget phone which looks and feels right, but makes a few sacrifices in the wrong places. And the one that crops up the most is something that sounds almost trifling: the lack of an auto brightness setting. This means you have to change the screen intensity manually every time you go out, and may set the screen too bright a lot of the time, reducing stamina.”
“The Samsung Galaxy J3 is certainly a respectable budget smartphone for £150, but with very little difference compared to the Galaxy J5 in terms of price - just £10 at the time of writing - I can't think of any reason why you'd pick this instead. Both have an excellent display, but the Galaxy J5 is faster, longer lasting and has a far superior camera, making it much better value overall.”

it's a good phone but slow on occasion
I have had mine for about 6 months and the screen has already gone out. I have resisted getting a touch phone for a long time after the last one I had went out in three months. As I need this phone for work this is a big disappointment.

Hi again dpi!I understand your concern. As far as my experience goes, most (if not all) virtual keyboards can be rotated that you can it in landscape mode. If subscreen (or sections) you meant how many rows most keyboards have, most have 5 rows, 4 rows for the different keyboard keys and the top one for text predictions. With Motorola Moto G4 Play, it's the same. It all comes down to the keyboard of your choice. On Smartphones like Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) and Motorola Moto G4 Play, you can install different keyboard apps to fit your needs. Some of which are the Google Keyboard and Swype. And by the way, you can make the phone vibrate with each press on the keyboard to give it a physical keyboard-like feel.
