I love my little phone that could! 4 stars.

I bought a blue LG Rumor in 2008. Now, 2 years later, I had a decision to make. I wanted to upgrade my plan and upgrade my phone. I was very comfortable with my Rumor so at first I decided on going with the Rumor 2 from LG. My brother told me to not get it because he had read some reviews that weren't so great. So after some thought, I decided against it. He recommended the Exclaim which he said had better reviews altogether. I must say that once I read some reviews and watched some videos, I decided on this phone and got it in the mail the next day after ordering it online. I was soon enough very pleased with it. First of all, this phone is very, very beautiful. I got the one that looked red, but when you get it, it's actually more of a berry color. It has a button for you to press that enables speakerphone if necessary. Or you could just use the talk button for normal calls. There is also a customizable section called the carousel which has different things on it like your own personal Facebook and Myspace spaces, CNN News (which I love), Sprint navigation, Google search, internet, etc. You can also add others like Horoscope, Weather and other things like Sports and stuff to the home button. I use my phone for occasional phone calls, lots of text messaging and the internet (mostly CNN News). I go through Sprint which has great service in my opinion. The guy that helped me switch phones was very nice and extremely helpful. This is my third cell phone (My first was an average-but-gets-the-job-done Virgin Oyster which I had no plan for) and things keep getting better and better. I don't need an iPhone or a Blackberry or a smartphone or anything with crazy features that I won't need. I just want to be able to receive and make calls, text messaging, internet, ringtones and the basic stuff. Nothing major. This phone has that all plus a little more! PROS: *Slides two ways (down for phone pad and out for qwerty keyboard, but not at the same time) *Nice enough screen which is a good size *Internet is overall, a pretty decent speed *3G support *Quick Facebook & Myspace access *Great, clear pictures for a 2.0 mp camera *Battery lasts for hours and chargers *VERY* quickly *Comes with a 256 MB memory card CONS: -Occasional errors when trying to view different pages on the internet -Can't assign individual sounds/songs when someone sends a text message -Very occasional dropped calls 4 stars. I had been using a Samsung Messager for a couple of years and was satisfied with the way it worked. So, when I switched to Sprint, I wanted to stick with Samsung. The Exclaim seemed to be just what I was looking for. The dual keyboard is slightly less handy than having the numeric keyboard on the face of the phone, but that is the price one pays for a larger screen. The Exclaim does a lot more things than the simpler Messager. That makes the menu system more complex. That said the menu system is logical and after you get used to it, presents no problems. The home screen is customizable, so you can have things as you like them. The keyboards are easy to use and work properly. I can't attest to advertised battery life as I'm never constantly talking or on standby for long periods of time. I can, however say, that with a mix of voice, text, email with some web browsing and music, I can go for more than two days before needing to charge up. The camera works well and I don't see any blurriness that some have reported. I've seen some of the negative reviews and have no doubt that some have encountered problems or just don't like the Exclaim, but if you look at the reviews of any phone, you will find similar complaints. All I know is that we have two Exclaims and we are both happy with them. Less

If you ARE one of those "social networking types (Facebook, Twitter) - you'll love this. I'm not too much into that, but got this phone free with a plan and I selected it for the dual keypads. So there's a lot of features I just don't use. Not all features accessible with one-click - for example, Facebook is, but for Memo it takes 2 clicks. I've had no problems with the phone or software for 4 months now. The battery life seems short, but no less than other phones with all these features. I love that I can check my e-mail (because I'm not allowed to at work). But web surfing on the phone is still too slow for me. btw, if Sprint, get the data pack - yes it will work without one but the charges are unbelievable. PROS: good call quality, keypads, customizable carousel, decent screen, good camera CONS: no call logs (or I still can't find them), slow surfing, non-standard headphone jack. Also it's a bit bulky - though I personally like a more durable feel. Less

Pretty Excellent Phone

from Amazon
The Samsung Exclaim is an excellent phone. The responsiveness of the keyboard is amazing. The phone can multitask, for example, listening to music and texting at the same time. Overall, this phone is pretty good.

I bought this phone to upgrade from LG Rumor, and I fell in love with it. You have easy access to any and everything with the Sprint One Click feature. This phone is music capable, and connects easily with bluetooth earpieces. Not to mention, the dual slide action is amazing, and when sending or receiving a text, the font is large and clear to read. The phone itself is a bit bulky, and buttons on the QWERTY keyboard are a bit smaller than the ones on the LG Rumor's, but it's easy to adapt to. And last but not least, the resolution on the camera is sharper on this phone than any other phone I've ever owned (including the phones I had when I was with AT&T). So when you take pictures or record a video, the images are crystal clear. I am very pleased with this phone, and I suggest this phone to ANYBODY looking to upgrade, no matter their provider. Less

Pro: *The two sliding keyboards are amazing! I i've never had a full keyboard phone but i quickly got used to this one. I love the full keyboard because when you slide it up it automaticly goes to txting. Its feels nice in your hand even though it is rather large. It has a very large screen and a nice display. I like that it comes with a memory card so that you can save all your pictures and music on it. The ringers a very loud and it has a nice vibrating function. Con: *I txt alot and i hav found that the battery life is not very good. The camera doesn't have a flash. It could have better picture quality. BUT...my biggest pet peeve is that you have to have a data plan to use over half of the features on your phone. If you don't have internet on the phone it cost you three cents per min. to use most of the phones features. Using experience: 2 days I found in the two days that i have had this one that i enjoy it very much. I would reccomend this phone to all ages. I haven't had any problems with my phone so far. :) Less

avoid Samsung

from Amazon
Phone has a very short battery life and drops calls. If you receive a call while using blue tooth and then get a text or any other sort of message it will drop the call. The phone has severe software issues that have not been dealt with. Look at Sprint site for reviews before you buy this.
