One of the things you immediately notice from the CorbyPRO is that, unlike most touch screens, it offers soft, rounded corners. A subtle touch perhaps, but it’s a good look and a refreshing change from all the black rectangles out there.
Samsung’s “Corby” line is lifestyle-focused, and the CorbyPRO is definitely the turbo model. Boasting a quality touch screen and full slide-out QWERTY keyboard (featured in dramatic red in contrast to the black device, interesting), features Samsung’s proprietary Touchwiz OS, the ability to create three completely different home screens via up to 100 different widgets, and much more.
The Samsung`s CorbyPRO has an impressive response time when switching from landscape to portrait, or between the various home screens. The touch screen itself , while not equal to Apple’s “TouchFlo” in this writer’s opinion, is a pleasure to use and clearly a refinement from what we were offered only a year ago.
The Samsung Corby Pro offers a 3.2MP camera with a variety of basic functions, video record, GPS, and an overall decent host of features one would expect from a touch screen smart phone.
Samsung is proudly putting its TouchFlo user interface up against Apple, Android and others, and time will tell what folks think. But kudos to Samsung for designing a phone that allows for fun and interesting customization options.
