Hard to kill

I paid $450.00 in 2006 as a replacment phone. I work as a tradesman and this poor phone has taken a beating, dropped many times, down stairs, snow, in sawdust, soo many hours of talk time, and is still going. It is still the original battery! I am now shopping for a smart phone, I hope they can be as reliable as this baby.

I had this phone for 1 year on telus and it was just awsome and it was great

Great starter phone

I originally paid nothing for this phone (it came free with a 3 yr contract with Telus) and so far I have yet to be disappointed. Pros: - DURABLE!! I have dropped this phone to the point the battery flies off and it still works - Camera has fun options, varying quality settings and pretty decent picture quality - Has slot for expandable memory - I have yet to have any software glitches or problems recording calls - You are able to record your own ringtones - Great reception but that could just be Telus (calls were usually pretty clear though) Cons: - Really bulky (being a female it takes up ALOT of space in pockets and purses) - Speaker phone usually sounds pretty distant so try to stay within 2 feet of the phone if speaker is on - You cannot turn off the sound on the camera shutter. It is annoying trying to take pictures and having the unwanted beep everytime - I find that as I add new words to the phones vocabulary, its forgets old ones - If the phone is off and I miss calls, it does not record them, but if it is on, it does Overall I have had this phone 2 years now and it really hasn't let me down yet. It's a trooper and a half but out dated and boring. Aside from some minor software glitches its just starting to get now, I would stick with it. Buy it again though, no..I want something a little more fun. Less

Old but Dependable!

I've had mine for a little over 2 years now and I've loved it up until I decided I wanted a slide-out full keyboard. 'm getting a Samsung Slyde m540 next week and I'm worried it won't be as durable or dependable. I've thrown my phone in a fit (bad temper) which I will try not to do with the new one, my...More
I've had mine for a little over 2 years now and I've loved it up until I decided I wanted a slide-out full keyboard. 'm getting a Samsung Slyde m540 next week and I'm worried it won't be as durable or dependable. I've thrown my phone in a fit (bad temper) which I will try not to do with the new one, my cat has played with it all his life, it's one of his favourite toys, and it's been dropped several times. The sound is... well it could be better, it makes everyone sound muffled and like they're mumbling unless they speak loud and clear, speakerphone COULD be better but works very well, ring tones also aren't as loud as they used to be, or as loud as I want them to be. Also, the MP3 player only sounded good with earphones. It takes forever for a call to connect, and sometimes it won't even connect my calls, as well as the vibrating only works when it feels like it. For such minor issues with this phone after quite the beating over 2.3 years... I'm surprised and I might even give this to my mom to use as an emergency pay-as-you-go phone like she's always wanted. :) Less

Durable

I got this phone July of 06 with Telus. I loved it for my first year or so. It does everything well, but its just so boring and outdated. I've dropped it many times, and it even survived a night in a snowbank with no problems. I'm not sure if you can even buy it anymore.

Great Phone with minor issues

I've had this phone for about 3 years now. I'm now up for a new phone and I'm thinking about getting the LG Dare but I keep comparing it to this phone I'm concerned it won't stack up. The reception is good, it even worked when I went down south to Domican Republic. I just don't like how there is no SI...More

The reception is good, it even worked when I went down south to Domican Republic. I just don't like how there is no SIM card to save your contacts onto, you can't transfer files with bluetooth, and the MP3 freezes at every other song. The phone is still a strong and durable phone. I've dropped it many times. I've only had to replace the battery recently because the original could no longer hold a charge longer then 6 hours. Less

Dont buy this phone!

My phone is not recording any of the missed calls, as it seems everyone eles phone seems to be doing......but I could live with that and have for the two years out of the three year contract I have on the thing. But now it freezes up when I try to text more than two letters and the only way to get it to reset is to remove the battery off the back. So I thought I could live with that SORT OF, but now I cant change my contacts or my banner or anything without it freezing. I can still call out and receive calls. At least I think I can. Bottom line is DONT BUY THIS PHONE. Less

SAVE YOUR MONEY

The phone has a software issue which Samsung nor Telus (my provider) will take resposibility for. The phne stops logging calls. It will not store that you have missed a call, recent calls, received calls... It maintains no history. Although both telus and samsung are aware of the problem, one blames the other. If you are lucky your provider may offer you a $100 credit towards another phone. If this problem has'nt affected you yet, it will, mine screwed up after 11/2 years. Less
Amazon

I like the black pictures it takes

from Amazon
I don't really use the music, because verizon is a rip off. I use the camera, even when I'm not... and sometimes I end up with pictures of my pocket because I pressed a button somehow and it took some photos. I don't really have any other complaints, nor any positives, so it gets a three.
