I've been stuck with this phone for almost 3 years. Worst mistake I've made. Pros: - Color screen - Easy to use - Basic features (calculator, scheduler, alarm, etc). - Easy to find contacts - Looks nice Cons: - No video camera (only still images) - No way to turn off shutter sound of camera - NO reception. Let me elaborate: I could not get reception in my own house, let alone ANY basement. Calls would not go through. People would call and get straight to my voicemail without the phone ringing. Text messages would arrive 10-20 minutes after they were sent, and sometimes NEVER received (I had a friend would texted me three times in one day and I never got any of them!). I would constantly have my calls dropped due to "signal faded" problems, even when in downtown Toronto! Also, call initiation would take at least 10-20 seconds before a call was made. This makes it very frustrating. Bottom line: Do not get this. Terrible phone. Less

Pro: Voice recorder, camera, speaker quality Con: Getting pictures off of the phone without paying Sprint The neatest thing about this phone is that you can record any conversation if you set up the voice memo feature that way. Unfortunately, the only part that gets recorded is that of whoever you are talking to. One downside is the hassle of getting pictures and recorded memos directly off of the phone instead of paying Sprint to use their data services, but it can be done using a free program called BitPim and an aftermarket USB cable [You might have a hassle getting the right usb drivers, though; don't buy a usb cable and expect to get your pictures off unless you are a little geeky. There is a secondary hassle: the pictures on the phone appear to be in jpg format, but they show up with a weird crown icon that only Photoshop or Photoshop Elements will open.] What I hate most about the phone is that Sprint has it set up so that it regularly tries to sell you different Sprint features when you open the flip instead of just going to your phone's desktop. Also, the available talk time drops dramatically after about a year. And, after a year and a half, my phone has started doing strange things like coming back on by itself after I turn it off, but, so far, simply removing and reinserting the battery has fixed the problems. I'm just praying that it lasts the 2 more months I have left until I am eligible for another $150 off a new phone. Considering the price, I consider it a good deal, and I might get the identical model again if they are still selling them. Less

I have been using this phone for 2.5 years and it has had it's life. I have always had some problems with the phones that I have had with Samsung, however, this one has been the worst. Besides the clock glitching and the fact that when someone calls it appears as a different name most times and the photos don't show up when a call is coming in and the fact that it has a habit of shutting off automatically. Then when it is on vibrate it doesn't vibrate everytime, which means you miss calls. Most of the ringtones are ok, but mostly irritating. The fact that this phone shows every finger print is kind of annoying. I mean I didn't pay anything because I signed a contract, but without a contract this phone was not worth it. I would much rather pay some money for a phone that works all the time. Texting is fast and efficient and the signal strength is great. Clear voice on both ends. Speaker holds up well. Camera is not too bad. Call log is kind of messed up sometimes it tells me that the person I called at 1:30 PM called me at the exact same time. Missed alerts are always inaccurate, and it glitches in that screen as well. I just put up with the phone because I didn't want to pay the service charge to cancel my contract which would have been about $400.00. The phone is good enough to last the 2.5 years I have had it, but not worth paying $400.00 in contract cancellation for. Less

Buying a cell phone out of the box that incorporates speech into its operation is a key feature of most Samsung phones. While I required sighted assistance in initially setting up the phone, having talking menus and contact lists make this phone an essential for a blind person. The speech is somewhat crude but understandable. This paticular model is increasingly more difficult to find, but knowing Samsung's commitment to accessibility, I have no doubt that if you find a phone you like and you require talking menus, go for it. One other feature that I especially like is the command system offered by this phone which allows a person to call contacts, place calls and check status of signal and attery strength. I am absolutely pleased with this product. Less
