Darn, there are no reviews yet for this phone.

This is the best phone I have ever / will ever own.

I know this phone isn't on the market anymore, but just in case anyone comes across a cheap used one I figured I'd better throw in my two cents. This is the best phone I have ever / will ever own. I know this phone isn't on the market anymore, but just in case anyone comes across a cheap used one I figured I'd better throw in my two cents. This is the best phone I have ever / will ever own. Sure it doesn't have an mp3 player, expandable ring tones, an HD camera, etc., but if you're looking for a CELL PHONE (you know, to call and text people), look no further. I've had this phone for almost 4 years now and its never caused me any grief. Reception is excellent, and the built in key shortcuts help you whiz around the interface like its your day job. I bought a new battery for it today, as the battery life is starting to get a little too short for me (though this isn't a phone problem: any battery would be close to its death after powering a device for 4 straight years). There's a funny glitch where if you open the phone at the exact same time the front display turns off (from when you opened it previously), you'll come face-to-face with a blank white screen. All you have to do it close the phone and wait for the front display to turn off. Open it up and you'll be fine. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) another 4 years with my new battery, and shudder to think about my life without this phone. Less

where do you get a new battery for a pantech 3200, i like the phone but my battery is shot

The phone ... 3 years later

I posted the first review in this list for this phone. I would invite all to read it before reading this one in order to get a sense of what has changed in my opinion of this phone. That said, I have some updates: The phone is tougher than I first thought. I dropped a couple of times with no damage. The case suffered only a scuff mark or two. The sleek design is still a winner in my books. The battery does give out and will need to be replaced. It costs more than most cheap phones so let your individual contract situation decide that one for you. The phone can lock up with a white screen on rare occasion. Turning it off then on restores it. My new bluetooth headset (Motorola H15) can actually freeze my phone in a powered off state! If I turn on the bluetooth device while the phone is off, I can't turn the phone on! The only fix is to first turn off the bluetooth device, then remove and reinsert the phone battery. The phone can then turn on. My previous bluetooth headset (LG) did not do this. Texting is fair to middling at best. Only a short amount of text is downloaded/visible and getting the rest can be problematic depending on the service being used. The dictionary is not expandable as far as I can tell and shifting case is a pain. The lack of Mac synchronization is now a real problem. It was promised by Pantech within a couple of months of my buying the phone but it never materialized. Vapour-ware by any other name. I'm looking at the iPhone as a replacement. My contract is up so I can go anywhere at any time. It's just a matter of comparing plans and providers. Less

its been good for me

I have had my phone since 2006 and the pictures are still clear. The sound is good. The screen is still unmarked and clear. The options it offers me has been more than enough. All in all out of all the phones I have had, this one is the best. I am a little nervous to change it over.

Junk

Don't buy this phone. The speaker quickly died without warning after the second year and the battery can barely last a day or yet alone a conversation. Stay away from it.

Bad Battery

Like all the other comments, the phone is completely dead, I charge it and in about 5 minutes it's saying fully charged. I can only use it now when it's plugged in! There is absolutely no damage to my phone, not even a scratch on it! When I signed up with Telus on a 2 yr contract I got this phone for free, Thank God I didn't sign up for a 3 yr because it wouldn't have made it! I went to Telus to just purchase a new battery for the phone because like I said, I love this phone! They told me the battery was about $79 + tax! I would be better off just to renew my contract and get another free phone! The way I see it, I'm gonna have a phone regardless and I'll be gosh darned if I give them anymore money than what I'm already paying for my monthly bill! Anyways, up until about a month ago the phone itself had excellent reception, picture quality not the greatest, but was very resistent to any kind of scratches or dings! I'm really going to miss this phone! Less

Good phone, bad battery

The phone overall was good, but the battery (like many other users) dies very quickly even after fully charged. You're in the middle of a conversation and it dies without warning. Same as everyone else. Full charge on the battery and 1 min of talking and it dies. Battery is dead. Put it on the charger and it says its fully charged after 2-3 minutes. Turn it back on and make a call and the same thing happens all over again

Crappy batteries

You'd think that when you sign on for a 3 year plan...the phone that Telus supplied would last that long but...nope. I to had problems with the battery after only 18 months. I called the Telus help centre and they denied that this is a known problem...they also told me the phone wasn't warranteed. They suggested that I take it to the local dealer and try to wrangle a battery out of em or...upgrade at own expense.....nice....thanks...I appreciate that. I sure feel like I got serviced...from behind...and hard. Oh well, maybe the local fella will stand behind Telus's product...even if they won't. I wonder what they'd do if my checks stropped working after 18 months...hmmm. Less

worst phone ever made?

this phone, though easy to use, and looks good, is easily the worst phone ever released on the market. You can't even turn the thing off because it wont turn back on. I feel like I got ripped off by telus when they said that i should get this one instead of a razr because razrs break. Forget that, it's the other day around. Do Not Buy This Phone! Less
