If you don’t own a smartphone but would like to access Google, here's how:

  1. 1

Begin as if you would text a friend, but in the input field, type 466453 (The numerical equivalent of ‘Google’).

  2. 2

In the body of the text, type your message/search request.

  3. 3

    Press “Send”.

Google will then return search results to you in the form of a text message.

Tips & Warnings

  • This is a function that works in the “text message” environment, and not as an email address. So when using the Google shortcut, remember that it is an SMS and certain charges may be incurred.
  • If you enjoy this method of texting Google, you may want to consider setting Google up as a contact in your address book. This way, whenever you want to conduct a search, you need only go into your address book, type “G” and it will bring up Google, saving you lots of time and keystrokes.
