What the Critics Are Saying...

ZDNet

While Oppo's Reno 10x Zoom can't quite match the P30 on photography, it gets pretty close -- while offering excellent value for money. Performance and battery life are good, and the industrial design is both eye-catching and robust. The pop-up front camera does rule out an IP rating, and wireless ch...

These are usually not deal breakers since the most important functions are top-notch in the Reno 10x Zoom. However, at the cut-throat high-end segment, you sometimes have to pack everything in to win over demanding users. Price-wise, the Reno 10x Zoom does have an advantage over some of its rivals....

Oppo has delivered a well-rounded and exciting new flagship that doesn’t do as you might expect. It has the potential to take on some serious camera phone contenders too.

Tech Advisor

The Reno 10x Zoom feels a lot like the OnePlus 7 Pro, but trades that phone's phenomenal screen for a better camera instead - a trade-off that's likely to make sense for a lot of people. It's got top specs, decent battery, and a slick design - as long as you don't mind the shark fin.

Digital Trends

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom’s camera is excellent, with strong abilities and some fun features. But the package is let down by its software, which frustrates more than it delights. The battery compensates for this, but the weight of the phone means you’ll always know it’s with you.

However, at the cut-throat high-end segment, you sometimes have to pack everything in to win over demanding users. Price-wise, the Reno 10x Zoom does have an advantage over some of its rivals. At S$1,199, it isn’t cheap but it’s cheaper than rivals such as Samsung’s Galaxy S9+ and the Apple iPhone X.

While some of the hardware choices can be easy to look past, the camera's shortcomings might be enough to force some people to choose other phones over this one, and the battery saver issues certainly caused daily irritation for us, too.

It not only looks and feels unique, qualities that are becoming more and more difficult to find among smartphones, but it's also a well-built and designed experience that makes everyday use a joy. It's also probably the most viable option if you're looking for a smartphone with extreme zooming capabilities, and the rest of the experience here doesn't just fall in line, it exceeds expectations.

Top-notch performance fused with elegance

Smartphone photography enthusiasts might get attracted to the phone's camera capabilities. And, not many smartphones in the segment come close to it. The smartphone packs a great set of cameras and checks almost also the boxes of an ideal flagship. For its price range, the device seems a good value for money.
