Entry level business smartphone

from MobileBurn

While the Nokia E51 certainly isn't a 'multimedia computer' like the manufacturer's Nseries of devices, it doesn't have to be. The E51 is targeted as an entry level business smartphone, and in this class, it is simply unparalleled.

The combination of a slim, solid device with a great keypad, good screen, 802.11g WiFi, and the powerful and usable S60 UI really do make this device the complete package. While I wasn't too impressed with the device's looks on first inspection, it strangely grows on you, and I really have to struggle to find something bad to say about it...

While I wasn't too impressed with the device's looks on first inspection, it strangely grows on you, and I really have to struggle to find something bad to say about it.

Sure, the screen isn't the biggest around, the camera is only 2.0MP, and the speakerphone isn't the greatest, but a business user that is looking to consume email, manage their calendar and contacts, and make lots of calls will not be disappointed with the Nokia E51. Those wishing to spend more time writing emails might want to look toward something with a QWERTY keyboard, and folks wanting a mobile web browsing device may need a bigger screen, but otherwise the E51 is as close to the perfect business phone around at the moment, and should you reside in an area with 3G data access, the experience just gets better.

I have had this phone for over year. In the first year, it worked great. After, it started resetting itself once in a while. I didn't pay too much attention at first but it quickly deteriorated to resetting itself all the time - it is completely unusable as it is. Resets itself all the time during phone calls. Also, the screen has been completely obscured by dust. I regret Nokia quality has gone down so much. I will not use a nokia product until they fix their issues. Less

great phone with few problems

Pro's: Great phone with good wifi Con's: Hearing goes down after a year, and the phone acts up on it's own. I would say, worth it for the short term.
