What the Critics Are Saying...

Neowin

The Nokia 7.2 provides a heck of a lot of value, probably more than the Moto G7, something I never thought I'd say. There's so much that's good here. There's a 48MP rear camera with Zeiss optics, along with an eight-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a depth sensor. And the camera is pretty good. It als...

Nokia 7.2 is a noteworthy mid-ranger from the company with eye-catching design and build quality. It has its problems, especially in terms of performance due to the older chipset. But at the end of the day, for me, the pros outrank the cons. However, if not for the competitive pricing in Nepal, the...

The Nokia 7.2 is a fairly affordable mid-ranger, so you would not expect flagship front camera performance, but better options are available even at its price point. The Nokia is capable of decent image and video results in good conditions, but quality drops off in low light, and there are too many...

The Nokia 7.2 is a fairly affordable mid-ranger, so you would not expect flagship front camera performance, but better options are available even at its price point. The Nokia is capable of decent image and video results in good conditions, but quality drops off in low light, and there are too many issues overall, including exposure and color instabilities as well as a range of artifacts, to merit recommending the 7.2 to any passionate selfie shooter.

An excellent device for the low-medium priced segment

The Nokia 7.2 is an excellent device for the low-medium priced segment and does many things well. I would even recommend it over some flagships based on the user experience alone however the hardware has room for improvement.

HMD Global does a lot right with the Nokia 7.2, but the smartphone shows some weaknesses in detail in some areas. Nevertheless, the Nokia 7.2 is a very successful further development compared to its predecessor, because a lot has happened especially in terms of battery life and the memory has also been spiced up considerably. And for those who value a pure Android experience, there is no way around the Nokia phone in this price range, as it is equipped with Android One.

The battery life is average. The performance is tolerable. However, the Nokia 7.2 would be a really good buy if it was closer to the $250 price range as opposed to $350.

A fair mid-range phone, but not an exciting one

The Nokia 7.2 has most of the features we've enjoyed in HMD Global's phones this year, but with so much competition at its price point, there's not much here to make it a compelling option.
