MobileBurn

Stylish, very sturdy, and packed with features and connectivity

from MobileBurn

The Nokia 6650 is a great device: stylish, very sturdy, and packed with features and connectivity. It's a shame that no WiFi was included to compliment the device's HSDPA capabilities, but you can't have everything, and a lot is included considering the device's price tag. I also liked the color-changing keypad and the enormous battery. No device is perfect though, and the 6650's camera leaves a lot to be desired, packing the bare minimum 2.0 megapixels that seem to have become the current benchmark. The music player's output was also not among the best I've heard, and the included headphon... Full review

if you are looking for a small smart phone this is the one to go with. it has all the features that a normal flip phone has plus the features of a smart phone. if you are not smart with phones then this phone is not right for you. but if you spend alot of time on the computer and cell phones then this is a good buy. I like how you are able to multi task with all the applications. Ex: browsing the web, texting, and IMing. When you close out of the browser you dont loose your information. This phone is perfect for the advanced user of cell phones. Less

When we picked out this phone, I was originally excited because I love having my music with me and I could expand the memory with my microSD card, which also works with the SD slot on my laptop. I didn't really care much about the camera, which is good, because unless conditions are absolutely perfect, you won't get a good turnout. I have been sticking to Nokia phones because I had been having good luck with them - durable, long-lasting, and great with calls. I saw my percentage of dropped calls almost eliminated since I switched to Nokia phones. But this phone suffers from poor design. The buttons on the front of the phone are very sensitive and I have accidentally dialed people from my pocket or purse a half dozen times. The PTT button is the same, and gets in the way a lot. You cannot customize the features on the front display, like the ability to lock out the buttons to prevent butt-dialing people. You can lock the buttons from the inside of the phone, which is a bit infuriating. When the display on the inside of the phone is not lit because it is locked, but still trying to tell you how to unlock the phone, it is hard to read and frustrating. After having this phone for nine months, the problems got worse. The unit unexpectedly died one day, after no obvious problems. I sent it back to AT&T, and they sent me a "refurbished" unit. After a week, the refurbished unit died too. Even with new batteries in them they would not turn on. You will only get refurbished replacements for the year the warranty (of the original phone) is valid. My experience brings me to these two recommendations: 1) Buy a different Nokia phone than the 6650, and 2) keep an old phone handy, just in case. Less

I'm in North Mojave Desert, no dropped calls, great connections always! I'm 55, glasses and all, and this phone is very easy to view images, text, access media net, mobi-email, Tunes, AT&T Navigator, all the useful & entertaining applications. The ring tones and volume are the same as all of the popular phones, and since I am 'old school' I use the nostalgic , loud ringing bell type tone...If ya can't hear that, get a hearing aid! I'm using all of these applicatins , without reading the manual...All of these apps are intuitive. Girls, this phone is easy to keep in a very small, flat evening clutch, or seveal of the sport phone cases. I love all kinds of metal, so the brushed silver metal case works. Less

It easily connects to the net which they charge you just for one second. Seriously, you do not think to buy it, even consider it. The cell phone is useless, awful, low quality, bad, no good, too small, too low volume, too sensitive the front screen, and etc, and many more bad words that I can type it. USELESS CELL PHONES. VERY BAD CELL PHONE. THE WORST CELL PHONE I EVER HAD. Less

It Was A Poor Replacement For My Razor

I got this phone to replace a Motorola Razor V3i, when I suddenly could not hear through the ear piece anymore. My requirements were: 1. A reliable alarm function; 2. Bluetooth; 3. Camera/Camcorder; 4. The most important: bluetooth compatibility with my Garmin Nuvi 660. The only AT&T phone available for my upgrade that was on the Garmin Nuvi list was the Nokia. Reviews compared it to the Razor, so I tried it. I only kept it for 48 hours. Let's start with the positive: * Addressbook: Searchable by letter and you can add extra fields. Very nice. * I kind of liked the cover screen and the accessibility to the calendar (even though it's just to view); * It had talking caller ID (but see my negative list). * It had an audible message alert for missed calls/voicemail (not all phones do!). * It felt good in my hand, slightly more narrow than the Razor but just a little longer. Nice solid feel to it. * Alarms are very customizable, as to when they go off (bi-weekly, etc.). Then again, that could've been the calendar too, I forget. * Good reception, but didn't use it that much. * It paired with my Nuvi and my Motorola H700 headset immediately. The things I absolutely hated: * If you're used to a flip phone and use just one hand to open it like I do, be careful because at the top of this phone, where the metal ends, it's sharp and often pinches the skin very painfully. I tried to make a complaint at the AT&T store but don't think they really cared because they thought I was trying to return it as a defective phone; * The alarm function is NOT continuous. If it goes off and you do nothing (because you're sleeping!) it will just stop after a while (not a long while either, like after a minute or maybe less than). Just stops. I think it may have auto snoozed, but still -- not acceptable; * Talking caller ID was ridiculously low and useless; * Volume too low, both on the handset and using the speakerphone. Buttons not comfortable for texting and screen too small. That little loss of width at the screen (in comparison to my Razor) made a difference. * When you change your wallpaper, a part of the theme still shows at the very top, above the icon bar. Yuck. That really annoyed me. I had already ordered the data cable, a case and car charger which I'll have to refuse now (as directed by the vendors) and I got a Samsung Eternity instead, which I'll be writing a review on in a couple of days. This is my second day with the phone and im very pleased with it. Im fairly tech savvy and figure out phones well, but it took me over 30 minutes just to figure out how to turn on predictive text and the instruction manual wasn't much help. The phone is very sharp looking and loaded with neat features like a gps, phone book, etc and obviously is blue tooth capable. The camera also has a flash which is a plus. There has been no problems sending or receiving calls and the voice quality is crystal clear. This is also my first phone with flat buttons, i have never particularly cared for them but it works quite better than expected. So who should get this phone? Anyone who wants a phone with a neat, yet complex interface should love this phone as much as me. This is the LAST phone youd want to get for your parents though - or anyone who isnt willing to take some time (and it will take some time) to figure out the phone. Less

A solid phone. Good battery life, clear reception. Syncs with Outlook. Is very easy to tether to a laptop via Bluetooth using Nokia PC Suite. The supplied email software is not so great but you can download Nokia Messaging which works well. I only use the phone for checking email, not sending. For this purpose it is ideal, and it fits in your pocket unlike a bulky smartphone. The Navigator GPS software is mostly great. Get a phone holder for your windshield and a car power adapter and you are all set. So if you need a basic quasi-smartphone, this is a good choice. My only gripe is that it is too easy to press the camera or navigator button. And after closing it, it pays to lock the outer touchscreen display by quickly moving your finger over the left and then the right "buttons". Other than those small issues, I've been pretty happy with this phone (have had it 2 months). Less

With a sleek and sexy design, great battery life, GPS, Music Player, and 2MP Camera/Camcorder w/ Flash, the only main concern is the keypad. While it is nice to text on, the GPS button gets in the way, opening AT&T Navigator service. It's 3G speeds could be a tad better, but it definitely is fast enough. There is mobile e-mail, IM, Internet Browser, and a Flash Player. The Nokia 6650's Symbian s60 is loaded with features, but may take some time to get adjusted too. Over all a great flip phone with so much to offer with its incredible design, durability, reliability and features! Greg H Less
