Darn, there are no reviews yet for this phone.

allright

Feature wise its great: all the good nokia stuff and well thought out including infrared port to connect it to a computer. Design is pretty good and useable. Battery lasts about 2-3 days normally. Downsides are short batttery life (

I had a Motorola T720 before this, and that phone had very poor battery life, was flimsy and had poor reception. This phone excels at the essential elements of service use, battery life and reception. I do not use very much airtime, I just want to be contactable when needed, and when needed I want the call to get through. The battery is good for several days of standby and the reception is excellent as many other reviews on this site note. Usability is high with good menus and intuitive design. An excellent phone. Low battery life

Marketing materials for this phone indicate "up to 6 days" battery life, and Nokia itself suggests up to 10 days (according to their support line). In pure standby mode (keys locked, no incoming or outgoing calls) it will last a couple of hours into the third day, and in normal use (that is about five...More

In pure standby mode (keys locked, no incoming or outgoing calls) it will last a couple of hours into the third day, and in normal use (that is about five minutes of airtime a day for me) it won't last over two days. I noticed this problem right away, getting a new battery from the supplier within a week, and replacing the entire phone within a month. All had the same battery life problems. Less

Terrible Batteryh Life

I returned the first phone thinking that we just got a bad battery but the second phone is no better. Yesterday the battery lasted 6 hours with no talk time. I will be taking it back again. The good points are reception and price.

battery life sucks

I upgraded to this phone from an LG in June and have had nothing but problems with the lifetime of the battery. I bought this phone because it was reccommended to me over another LG phone. I was told by the rep when comparing phones that the Nokia 6585 was less likely to come back with problems. I have no problem with the service. It is great. My battery will only last approximately 48 hours and that is only using 20 minutes of talktime. I was smart enough to get the three year extended warranty which has come in handy. They have replaced my phone once already and the problem is still occurring. As soon as I am able to upgrade my phone, I will be and will not be going back to Nokia. Less

Fantastic - everything I need in a cellphone.

After careful consideration, I recently purchased the 6585, and having experience selling these units, i had an idea of it''s capabilities; however, after I purchased it and started using it, I found that the 6585 was not only easy to use, it also had fantastic reception, and applications that i use on a daily basis such as the radio, organizer, mobile browser, voice dialing, voice memo, games etc... It offers me so much that I have discontinued my landline service in favour of this cellphone. It is a little small for my liking, but considering all that''s good about this unit, i can live with it''s size. Well done Nokia!!! Less

Bought in Dec.04 with Aliant in NS. I work for an Aliant dealer here in Halifax and chose this phone only after weighing all the other options. If you want great functional phone, this is the one. It doesn''t have -all- the goodies out there, but it''s great for voice or business users, not at all bogged down by cameras or unnecessary features. I''ve NEVER lost signal with this phone, even in the middle of a concrete and glass office building where Motorola''s and Samsung''s are looking for svc. I have no problem having a full conversation standing in the basement of my house out in the woods. Nokia''s menus and predictive text are second to none and the speakerphone and voicedial work great. The battery life isn''t quite up to what''s claimed but is acceptable, it only takes an hour and a half to charge! Only other minor problems with the phone are the power button, and the fact that you can''t make custom shortcuts. Everything else is great! Less

Great preformance in a simple package

I have had quite a variety of phones in the past, from basic designs to all the bells and wistles. My last was a Motorola v550. After swithching to the Nokia 6585 all I can say is this phone gets the job done. If you want a phone to have "cool" ringtones or games this might not be for you....but if...More

If you want a phone to have "cool" ringtones or games this might not be for you....but if you want a phone that can and will make calls to and from places where other phones can''t then you will be pleased with this. In 3 Letters - WOW!

I just replaced my Kyocera 3245 with this phone - I have wanted a Nokia for some time, but my corporate plan through Bell Mobility didn''t offer Nokia phones until recently. The only downside to this phone is the volume control which is on the rh side of the unit, and difficult to use for left-handers. However, once you have the volume set you essentially forget about it anyway. IR interface is excellent. Using Nokia PCSuite, you can enter your contacts list into a database on your PC and transfer information between PC and the phone. You can even synchronize with MSOutlook or Lotus Notes (hoorahs to Nokia for recognizing that there is another corporate email standard than MS "Oops). Colour screen is nice and clear - OK so it isn''t as high a resolution as some of the competition, but it is pretty good. Even the speakerphone is better than I expected although the Kyocera 3245 is still tops in that category. It''s a nice light phone and fits nicely in my medium to large sized hands. The reception is way better than anything I have ever had before, including one Samsung, two Kyoceras, a Qualcomm, and a Motorola. And remember - this has an internal antenna as opposed to a flimsy pull-out plastic/wire job suseptable to bending and snapping (I replaced 3 on a Motorola v100 4 years ago). I live in a ''dead zone'' area for Bell Mobility - 100 ft in either direction from my home, and I get full strenght. With this phone I can make calls from my basement on digital network which is impossible for any other phone. I normally switch phones every year and my Kyocera was good for almost 2 years. Here''s hoping that this baby holds up as well over time. Less
