Simple and reliable.

I had this phone for around 3 years. It was reliable and functioned great without any major glitches. I had to switch to another phone after the top part physically broke off after major force was applied to it. Having always been a Nokia user, I wouldn't have realized how lucky I was until I tried some other brands that always failed to measure up to the reliability of this brand. Pros: - very reliable. Performance was good and continually so from the day I got it till 3 years down the road. There were no dropped phone calls, no buttons stuck, no mislabelled texts, no random turning off of the phone. (I've personally encountered these problems with other brands). - great battery life. With around 3 calls and 2 texts a day, I can usually go 3-4 days without charging. Cons: - like with other Nokia models, the functions on this phone is a little slow. Opening menu items or folders will take a few seconds. - this is obviously not for the tech-savvy user. There aren't many bells and whistles, and the camera it came with *only* performs as a phone camera - i.e. low resolution. Overall, I'd highly recommend this phone, especially for those who need a reliable phone for basic phoning and texting. Less

Fantastic Phone

This phone is awesome. I've had for almost 3 years, and I don't ever want to replace it! I purchased this phone after a review of phones offered by T-Mobile. It has a real, raised button keyboard, good display and low radiation/SAR rating. It makes and received calls well. The earpiece, a small hole as they all are now, must be positioned directly over the ear in order to hear well. I suspect the low volume complaints reported elsewhere are related to this limitation. The stubby antenna avoids hand contact and contributes to both good call reception and the low radiation rating. For a basic phone, this Nokia is the best I've found for use on T-Mobile, the Motorola V195 being high in radiation/SAR and having a flat keyboard flunks my needs. I will buy a leather case to protect it from the inevitable drops. I hope this Nokia 6103 gives me the same service that my 5185i did. Less

Decent phone

from Amazon
Owned the phone for 1 year, had to send it back once because the rocker button for the volume broke. It made some decent calls, HOWEVER BE CAREFUL OF THE FRONT SCREENS, THEY BREAK VERY EASILY. I know a couple people with this phone and they broke their screens as well.

When I first had this phone, I was excited. It had amazing battery life, good signal and interesting features. But by the end of the second week, i already hated it. The camera sucked compared to my previous phone and the memory is even worse. I had to delete most of the stuffs the phone came with so i could add games and ringtone. Then after i dropped the phone, the camera stopped working. The buttons start scratching the screen. The screen cracked after another fall. The top cover came off. The phone survived a wash...wait thats a good thing. But my biggest problem with the phone is the interferences. I can tell whenever im going to receive a call or message if Im near a speaker. The speaker start to give static noise and then the phone rings or vibrates. The charger also has this ringing noise when you plug it in. Now the phone also has that ringing sound when its close to my head. I just dont think thats safe so my phone is usually off and i use the headphones or loudspeaker for calls. I definitely need a new phone. Less

good solid phone

I've had this phone for almost 3 years and it has been a great phone - It's light and compact, simple, not too many features or games and not too much memory for cool ringtones, but if you want a phone to use as a phone it has lasted me this long, and the battery power is fantastic. well my old phone got all wet, so i had to buy another one. i decided upon the 6103 because i thought it looked like a solid phone. well, the first day i had it i dropped it on the concrete and the camera completely stopped working! now i didnt buy the phone for the camera, but on the first day im not gonna take that crap. so i took it back to the store, rogers in canada, and they sent me on a wild goose chase to get a new phone. "no no we dont replace phones here you have to go to the other store!" "but this is where i bought it!" so anyway io ended up getting another one. i had it for just over a year and then the keypad was scratching the screen, the buttons stopped working, like i couldnt press any of the numbers. so i figured the screen was touching the keys too much so i superglued a piece of elastic band to it and that helped for a little while, but it was not enough. since it was beyond a year they would not do anything under the warranty. i started having problems like a week after the warranty expired! way to go nokia on making a cheap and shitty phone. please do not waste your money on this phone.
