Black’s Photo, if you’re not aware, is now owned by Telus. The Canadian imaging and digital retailer now plays a key role in helping Telus reach as many customers as they can in a bid to stake their claim in the HSPA arena. What’s particularly interesting here is that when you visit the Black’s website, apart from the new phones we’ve featured already, you'll also find the upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 listed.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 hasn’t been announced by any carrier in Canada yet, including Telus. Nevertheless, given that they were among the select carriers in the country who released RIM’s first touchscreen phone, the Storm 9530, when it debuted last year, it’s not surprising that they’re also offering up its successor. With an improved Piezo-based touchscreen, WiFi, and a sleeker form factor, this one’s definitely a worthy upgrade to the original Storm.

No price or release date was mentioned, but do note that the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 isn't compatible with their new HSPA network. This version of the Storm 2 only comes with EVDO Rev. A connectivity. If you want one that woks on Telus’ 3G+ network, the one you should keep an eye out for is the BlackBerry Storm 2 9520.

UPDATE: It looks like it was just a mistake on their part as they've pulled it off on their site already. Nonetheless, thanks to their slip up, we now know that the Storm 2 is part of their upcoming line-up.
